Blooms......

After seeing the coneflower on many blogs........and reading how they attract bees and butterflies, I decided to purchase some. I haven't put them in the border yet but I can see that I am going to love these plants. Thanks to Sherry and Rose for their help.
Gladioli is not one of my favourite blooms.....but during a weak moment, I bought some that were white with splashes of lilac and purple.
A good purchase....I love them.
The buddleja is in flower, so hopefully the butterflies will be making many visits, giving me a chance for some nice photographs.....

Have a great weekend, enjoy...............

Hopefully your buddlea will attract butterfly's soon but we need a little more sun for them to come out don't we! Mine is out too but not much on it yet...the camera is poised though!

In between the showers there are a lot of butterflies and bees visiting my garden. The mini meadow is a big hit with them. Love that gladioli, no wonder you couldn't resist. ;-)

Have a lovely weekend!

Dear Cheryl,
I am so happy you bought some cone flowers. They are healing plants.
My Doctor has me growing some for teas. I have read it is the roots that are used!! I do not think I will dig up my sweet plants for tea. I will ask for a few leaves though. I think sitting near them is healing.
Bees and butterflies do love the blooms.
Your Butterfly Bush is very pretty. You will have lots and lots of butterflies! I am very excited to see them. The Peacock is so very beautiful! Amazing colors. I love the way the butterflies use camouflage and eye spots.
Hope to bug hunt on Sunday.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Sherry I am so pleased with the coneflowers....they are so beautiful. I have my bed prepared with lots of drainage added. I hope they will be happy...
The plants are healing, mother nature is our answer, don't you think....

Your coneflower is beautiful, and you are going to love it, Cheryl! I saw my first monarch butterfly today, and where did it land? On the coneflower, of course! Naturally, I didn't have the camera with me, but soon I should have a photo.

To you and Sherry, when I did research on the coneflower, I discovered it is another variety of echinacea that is usually used for medicinal purposes. But maybe you could use the purpurea, too.

Cheryl, I am finally back. As you know, I had a busy week and then weekend company til last Monday. Then!!! The internet has been down since last Sat. morning-we had a bad storm with lots of lightning. Most everybody got it back by Wednesday-not me. Finally the tech came this afternoon and got my box replaced. This is our weekend with the girls so I doubt I will get a post up before Monday. Have a lot of catching up reading to do. Boy, did I miss you all!! I think you will love your cone flowers and am planning on sending you some seed. I planted glads this year too for the first time in years and they look almost like yours! Hopefully, I can get back into the routine soon!
