Hot and sticky......

The soil is cracking all around the garden.......we reached 30 degrees yesterday.....also humidity is high....there is no forecast of rain.........
There are no clouds.....everywhere I look the sky is blue....the sun is strong.........but there is still so much beauty in the garden.....the following photographs were taken over the last two weeks or so......they show that whatever the weather there is always something beautiful out there.....

Sometime photographs speak louder than words.....have a good week.........

Thats the problem with the Uk's weather its all or nothing, no happy mediums. What ever we have we are not happy with. But as you say there is always something to look at!

Hi LIbby....you are right it is all or nothing....but that is English weather for you....I would not want to be anywhere else......

As I write this it's pouring with rain here in Dorset and it's 2.45pm! It's that lovely refreshing rain and we have got all the doors and windows open and can hear it but we are not wet! The blue skies have been lovely though and like Cheryl says I wouldn't want any other climate...

Cheryl, I wish I could send you some rain! Your coneflower is looking great, though.
The Navajos had many wonderful sayings about nature. Native Americans had a true kinship with nature; today's society could learn much from them.

As your photos show, nature continues no matter what...after all she's been at this game longer than us....your weather does remind me of ND at times.

PS: Thanks for your comment on my safari. I got an id for my moth...fortunately or unfortunately - it's a squash vine borer (and we have squash).

It IS muggy Cheryl. But we woke up this morning to the sound of a complete downpour!! I thought I was imagining it but I wasn't. I kind of hoped it would clear the air but nooooo. Still sticky here - there is just no air movement at all. Hope it is a little more pleasant where you are xxxx

I can imagine after such a cool summer so far the heat is really getting to you. Blue skies and warm sunny days do wonders for the gardens.(and weeds!) Your pictures are womderful. I love seeing the bees and butterflies. All of your blooms look so healthy, My favorite has to be the red poppy. Wow! such a lovely bloom-so fragile looking it almost doesn't seem real. Hope it cools off a little for you soon.

I'm always constantly amazed at your array of flowers and bees. That must be some garden. Hope you get a bit of rain soon to refresh those flowers.

I love the poppy to Beckie....that bloom is like silk, and it is so fragile....I doubt it will be there in the morning......

Gorgeous photos Cheryl. I hope you get some rain. We aren't quite that bad but we need rain to so I feel your pain.

Cheryl, you really have talent in photographing those bees. You seem to capture the essence of each little one, intent in its busy-ness. And your beautiful cone flower with morning dew (or did you water it?) on its petals, looked absolutely devine.
Hope your weathers cools somewhat. It's like that here too: either too hot or too rainy or too cold. So we really treasure the "perfect summer days".

Hi Lisa we had a powerful thunderstorm during the night with an inch of rain.....FANTASTIC

Hi Wendy...the water on the coneflower is early morning dew....we always get that here.....

Cheryl said...

Hi Chris......glad you were able to identify that lovely moth!!!!

It was hot and sticky yesterday here too with 33 C and 70 % humidity which was a vast change from the week before on Monday when it was only 13 C with non-stop rain. All or nothing is not just English wetaher but Dutch too. ;-)

Lovely picks Cheryl. Everytime I see bees in my garden I think of you and your blog.

Cheryl said...

Hi Yolanda....gosh you are hotter than us then.....

It is funny how all bloggers connect with each other in a given situation.....everyone seems to associate me with bees....I wonder why...lol
