Beautiful bees and blooms.......

I love this photograph.....for me it shows the joy of a bee.....it looks as though it has been sprinkled with fairy dust.........could there be a prettier sight in a garden.......
the asters are flowering freely and still delight the bees and butterflies......
Just look at the pollen bags on this little bee......and the wild clover is a real treat, just look at the beautiful bloom.......
my favourite, the carder bee, hanging from the meadow cranesbill.....they have been blooming since May...........

The sedums are near to flowering and will look amazing against the elder blacklace.........
I bought this plant today....it is a Persicavia.......when I was at the garden centre it was covered in bees....it amazed me that such an insignificant plant could attract so many. I came home and planted it in one of the beds, went indoors for a cup of tea, and when I came out it was covered in bees.........my next two buys were a complete extravagance....and I blame Sherry and Rose........
Echinacea Vintage Wine........after seeing the coneflower on other peoples blogs I really wanted to increase my planting........isn't it beautiful.........
And look at his one....this is Harvest Moon..........I am so thrilled with them..........thank you for showing me your lovely blooms and taking me to the wild plantings of the prairie's.......

Dear Cheryl,
Oh my goodness!! Your bees and blooms are so lovely...makes being on planet Earth a delight!
The Cone Flowers are breathtaking...the wine such a deep color. The white Cone Flowers are pretty with all the native flowers. I bet your Finches will love the seed heads too.
The flowers of the prairie are hardy and draught tolerant. With good drainage and full sun I bet your cone flowers will flourish.
Happy bees make for happy gardens.
Sherry, who dances with the bees

Oh Cheryl, that beautiful Echinacea Vintage Wine! That is so lovely, as are all the pictures, especially the bees. I now associate them with you and cannot see one in our garden wihout thinking of you.

Now frogs, oh dear, I realise that they are a gardner's friend but I have to say that I am terrified of them. I just cannot bear them - but I can't tell you why cos I just dont know. It is one of those strange quirky things that make me me (I think they call it neurosis lol xx )!!! And as you know, I do love my garden but it is quite a performance as I have a stick and I have to rustle the area I'm working on with it so that if there are any there they will hop off. It does sort of spoil it for me but I can't help it. We have a water feature and they like to live under it but I do wish they wouldn't.

You can always tell if I am out there and one appears as the sighting is always followed by a piercing shriek and me hot tailing it into the house - what a sissy!!! A few weeks ago we, like the rest of the UK, had real downpours and I was taking my aunt home and her road was teeming with them. I inadvertantly ran one over and of course I was upset as I dont like to hurt anything. But I actually felt ill to think I had been in contact with one - even if it was via my car wheel. And if I had a pound for each time someone had said that they are more afraid of me that I am of them,, I would be quite rich! What a nutter xxxx

Cheryl, Love the bee-he looks like he is so happy he is just rolling in it! The Persicavia is a new one to me, but if the bees love it all the better. Aren't those coneflowers beautiful?! I love the different colors especially the vintage wine. If they do as well as the regular ones you should have fields of them in a couple of years. I guess I am just going to have to quit being a tight wad and but some. Have a great gardening week.

Cheryl, You have indeed outdone me--those echinacea are beautiful! I love the "Vintage Wine"; I've never seen this one. Well, and the "Harvest Moon" is lovely, too...I'm just going to have to break down next spring and buy some of the newer cultivars. They are addictive:)

Love your first picture; I had one of a bee in my hollyhock, too. I can almost hear him giggling in glee rolling in the pollen:)

I'm not familiar with the Persicavia, but it definitely belongs in your garden!

Hubby and I are leaving for a long weekend; will be back to visit Sunday or Mon. Have a good weekend!

Hi Dawny......How sad that you have such a fear of frogs....remember in fairy tales they turn into handsome princes!!!
Many years ago now I decided to face my fears head on.......I was frightened of heights and spiders..... after several years of facing them head on.....I beat the fears......I pick spiders up now without a second glance, and my biggest challenge I went up in a hot air baloon (I was terrified) but I did it.......heights still scare me a bit but I can go up my ladder now without breaking out into a sweat, or my heart banging....
I feel for you....I know how you feel......perhaps look into getting some help with this huge problem.....Gosh I sound like an agony Aunt....lol

Hi Beckie....I am a coneflower addict now, unfortunately they are very expensive here but they will give me and the wildlife a lot of pleasure......

Cheryl - another lovely trip around your flowers and bees.

My sedums are also showing their first bit of pink - to me this is the sign that Autumn's nearly here.

And your Echinacea Vintage Wine - the colour is amazing and certainly lives up to it's name.

Beautiful bees and blooms indeed Cheryl. How lovely they all look. It's great to see so many bees buzzing in your garden and I love the new coneflowers you bought. At Bliss the bees seem to be particularly fond of the white borage.

This year I sowed some White Swan cone flowers and I'm very happy with my new plants and so are the bees and butterflies. :-D

BTW Bliss is teeming with wildlife today. ;-)

Hi Yolanda....I could not find the white swan coneflower.....that is one I really wanted.....another year perhaps......

I love that first picture...some flowers just rain pollen on the bees. I think that the aster I have will wait a bit before blooming...but this year it should be great. Your coneflowers seems to be coming along great!
