Sunday safari on Saturday..........

When I walked past the lavender this afternoon out of the corner of my eye I noticed this tiny butterfly........for me this is a dream because I love the blues. Look at the detail on the wings and how beautifully he blends with the lavender.........
And as this gentle creature opened his wings I knew it was the common blue......this is the first one I have seen in the garden and I can tell you my friends it was an absolute joy........

Sorry that I have posted early.....in and out sort of day tomorrow, so knew I would not have the time ......enjoy the rest of your weekend.......

How fortunate for you to have been in the right place at the right time, so you could capture that lovely blue butterfly. He (she?) looks so much at home sitting on the lavender.
Enjoy your Sunday.....

Dear Cheryl,
This is a beautiful butterfly. Tiny too as I can see from the lavender bloom. I am so excited to see this Common Blue...I love the blues too.

Such a delicate, elegant butterfly, Cheryl. You really are a great photographer.

I used to see lots of these when I lived in West Penwith, Cornwall. They were common in the 80s. By then, alas, the British Blues had disappeared.

Hi Heather....they are indeed hard to capture....with nature I am one very patient lady.....

Such a beautiful blue! I'm not sure I've seen a butterfly this color before. It's almost as if he knew the lavender would be a good color combination for him:)
