Emotions......

A lone bee visited yesterday......a cold wind from the north stayed for most of the day............yet little bee came back and forth.........I was captivated by this little creature..........I could not leave the garden till little bee had left..............
The skies were moody..........they have such a powerful effect on my emotions.............

Later in the day crows flew over........calling to each other...........heading for their roost............I wait for them most days.............again it draws on my emotions...............

White doves visit my garden every day................ they circle the garden several times before they go back to their cote............it is such a beautiful finale..................nature never ceases to move me..........surely I am not alone with this connection to the outside world..........am I?

I don't believe you are the only one with such connections and emotions to their garden.

with the clocks having been turned back I now feel dead inside as I only get the weekends to enjoy it, I spend most of my time outside, certainly in the summer until sunset.

Oh no you aren't the only one connected with the out of doors. I am sitting here with my window open as I type. I can't stand the thought of closing on another beautiful day. THose are moody skies you showed us and I love to hear the crows talking to one another.

Your little bee so hard at work-prparing for the long winter. I'm sure he was pleased to find your Sanctuary. Moody clouds-a perfect description! And yes, with the shorter days, I am moodier, I miss the sun and the outdoors. But let's hold good thoughts of gardens slleping and storing up their energies for next spring. Hope you see your doves each day and they bring you peace.

Hi Beckie.....I guess most people will miss the long and warm days of summer........but every season has its good points......have you ever stood in the middle of a field in winter, the trees stripped of leaves looking like huge carvings, and the wind blowing through your hair.......time almosts stands still.........

Cheryl, You are definitely not alone in your connection to Mother Nature. I dread the shorter days of winter--I want to hibernate like the animals. We have been fortunate for the past few days to have sunny skies and warm temperatures, which always elevates my mood. The bees and butterflies have left, but yesterday I saw a flock of goldfinches come again to the feeder. I hadn't seen any for a couple of weeks, and then yesterday there were six of them fighting over the perches. I'm not sure where they've been, but I so enjoyed seeing them again.

Dear Rose....so glad that you are having a warmer autumn....it does help with winter just around the corner........
we have actually had some sunshine today......after the miserable days of the last week and the chilly temperatures it has made a refreshing change...........
The goldfinch is a lovely bird, and they do give us a lift when they come to join us in the garden........

You are definitely not alone in your communion with nature. Thank you for sharing these lovely pictures and moving narrative. You expressed so well what many of us feel.

No I don't believe you are alone in your amazing connection Cheryl, but I do think that you are sadly very rare xxx And that upsets me because I really wish there were more like you in this world we live in. It would not be in such a mess if there were. There is beauty all around us but how many of us actually see it? A friend of mine who is an awesome photographer told me once that it was the best thing he ever did getting a camera and learning how to take photos. He said that it totally changed his perspective on the world and he began to appreciate everything around him and see beauty in all sorts of things. Hopw you are well and that you all had a wonderful night xxxx

Dear Cheryl,
The rhythms of Mother Nature are my rhythms. The pull of the Moon, the warmth of the sun, the stillness of the fog effect my feelings. I naturally am in awe of the beauty of each day in all the seasons and weather.
The bees, butterflies and birds are my friends and my teachers.
I have always been connected.
Once I learned photgraphy I learned how to share my love. Teaching the camera to see what I see has been a challange and fun!
Meeting others like you who hold the world in their hearts has taken away my loney feeling.
Thank you for taking your time and energy to connect. Thank you for sharing your kind words.
Walking in gratitude.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Dawny......the connection with nature is powerful and can sometimes move you to tears.....
have you ever stood alone in an open space and let the power of nature take over your mind and soul.....I have done this, and I must say the experience is something you cannot put into words.....I know in my heart that I am blessed.....
We all had the most wonderful evening.....bobbin apples was the funniest thing....I did eventually get one but I have never been so wet, it was so funny.....Poppi and Riley both tried several times but bless them they were too little to manage it.....they received a lovely prize each........they face painted Grandpop........now that was funny......
I hope you are all well and managine to catch up with all your work schedules.....take care....hugs.....

I think many of us (mostly women as you, Sherry, and Wendy pointed out) who see the beauty in the everyday, the joy in things other people take for granted, have this connection. Even when the tides change here, or the trade winds stop for a second, my moods seem to resonate that. Beautiful pictures as always.

Hi Cheryl,
Today is my birthday - what a fitting post.....I find the older I get the more I connect with nature.
Is it because we are moving closer to the time when once again we will be one with nature?
Or because we are home, rather than shut up in an office or other place of work?
Or is it heightened sensitivity, since we are Elders now.....

Thank you for this post on my special day. Thank you for sharing your gardens, feelings and connection....I value your friendship.
Love & Light

Feeling connected to the seasons and movements of creatures is a wonderful thing. Plants go dormant and animals prepare - our blood thickens and skin lightens to make ready for the colder temperatures and shorter days. I find that even domestic pets can help us be more connected as they respond to the natural environment through a more active instinct. I do feel influenced by the nature around me. I agree a walk on a quiet winter morning with fresh snow can be a wonderfully peaceful experience.

Dear Cheryl, You are definitely not alone in your love of nature. Thanks to my parents & grandparents I have been since early childhood. Unlike Mimi though, I think there are many men who love and appreciate nature & wildlife as much as we women do. I know my husband did, and he was an avid bird watcher as I am. - And I am SO blessed to have such a wonderful next door neighbor as Baker Watson who loves nature and wildlife so much and who loves my pond as I do, and likes to educate people about nature.
Your photos of autumn are SOOOoooo
beautiful !
Blessings to you, Graceanne :)

Cheryl, you are not alone! Nature puts me in a mood, a trance. I will watch for hours and think and think and think. And feel.
