It's still snowing...

As soon as it was light I was out in the garden to feed the wildlife.
Birds and other creatures will struggle in these conditions. We have not had snow like this for around 18 years....... our winters are generally wet ........

They are saying the snow will continue for another 24 hours.......

I am snug and warm inside..........I think of the wildlife and the night ahead. I shall be up early tomorrow and have plenty of food waiting for them.......

What a snowstorm for your area. I loved yesterday's post about the changing weather and today's photos of the snow are beautiful. I hope it clears soon.

Cheryl,

It is certainly a very strange winter for you and us...much colder than usual...I am glad the critters have you. Keep snug and warm.

Cheryl, your photos would make lovely Christmas cards! The snow looks so pretty in your garden, but I'm sure the animals are very confused right now. They are lucky to have you, Cheryl!

Now your place looks like winter! I am sure your wee ones are excited. Imagine...18 years between significant snowfalls. Keep safe.

Oh, yes! You finally get to feel the cozy warmth inside that a snowfall brings. It's beautiful. Enjoy, Cheryl!

I've been reading in the papers about your snowfall. It looks like a substantial one--you will be host to many wild things.

Cheryl, I saw on the news that London was to get 6 more inches of snow tonight. I do hope your area is missed by the bulk of it. I love the shot of the dog with snow all over it. I am sure he looks like all the wildlife feels right now. They are lucky to have you to give them extra fuel.

Here they say that the milk, bread and toilet paper sells out at stores right before a big storm. I hope you are prepared. ;)

what a snowstorm. i love the benches in the copse being covered and your one of a kind seat with snow tinged edges. it must be so strange getting all that snow if you all are not used to it. i am glad you are there for all the wonderful birds you are feeding, thrush, blue and great tits, robins and so on...
has your whole town shut down with all the snow falling>?

Oh dear! I've been hearing about the snow on TV. It's quite the news maker. When you are not used to snow of any amount this must be disasterous. I do hope you are okay. I know your critters will be well fed. It must be really strange for them. Can you imagine what they are thinking? :} Take care and stay warm!

My garden in India is buzzing with bees and birds all the time. I cannot imagine a garden without the chirpy residents who make it come alive!

Nice pics and sweet stories.
It's winter in Latvia now, too - snow, frost and wintertime birds :)

We had only a light sprinkling in the morning yesterday and in the afternoon it started to rain so it all melted. No snow today, did you get more today?

Lovely pics!

I'm sorry for the little ones without much food. so unused to this type of weather. I am glad you're there for them.

Every news channel is talking about the snow you're getting.
Saying it's the most snow you've had in 20 years.
I bet the kids are loving it !!
Have fun !

Hi Marmee thank you for your lovely words....the village stayed open.....it has to, it supports a lot of local people. The little shops do a grand job for us all.....we have a bakers, butchers, fishmonger, newsagent....a tiny supermarket, a clothes shop and a gift shop......as you can gather from that it is only a small village that I live in......

Hi Beckie....we are not prepared in the UK for snow. It happens so infrequently the resources are not available, so we go into a state of chaos. There were lots of accidents yesterday, people are just not used to driving in it.....

Two cars went off the road just along the lane.......fortunately the people were only shaken, not injured.......

Hi Yolanda....no snow today but more is on the way.....snow on and off for the next five days apparently.......
