Magic moments........

As I walked towards the pond the delightful perfume of the Water Hawthorn drifted around me. I remember buying this last year, and hoped it would do well. I think the flowers are so pretty, and the scent is an added bonus.......
The Goldfinch are in the garden most days......this little chap didn't seem to be sure of the new feeder........

I could hear the Dunnock singing as I walked.......this lovely little songbird has a place in my heart......he does not have fancy plumage, but his song takes your breath away....his high pitched warbling is pure delight. I connect with this bird....just to see him makes me smile.......

Little honey bees flew in for a visit.........

and a little comma butterfly warmed herself on the grass.......like me, just enjoying the moment.......
I noticed several hoverflies amongst the foliage........it is good to see them back again.........
And this little chap came to visit. Riley is a lovely child.......so bright, so funny, and so caring. He started school at the age of four. I miss him, so when he comes to visit, I make the best of the time we share......
And this shows the joy that Riley brings to us all. Little Poppi could not stop laughing when Riley said something funny to her.........
These two little beings bring so much joy to my life, there are no words to tell you........each day, I count my blessings......Riley and Poppi are top of the list........

Ahhhh, Cheryl, the beauty of those children makes me smile. I can fully understand "no words can tell"... the sheer love our little ones can draw out of us is not to be measured in human terms. So delightful, so full of life, joy, and laughter... and to think they share themselves completely with us! No feelings to match it. And then there is your extra ordinary garden... so lovely today with the critters ... the birds, the blooms. Thanks so much for taking us along on your walk... I could almost here your Dunnock... singing a special song for you.
Many blessings indeed, Cheryl.

LOL--a friend of mine was trying to make her 13-month old grandson laugh and he wouldn't... but when his 10-year-old cousin tried, he was grins from ear to ear! Also, I was taken aback by the photo of the goldfinch--they look VERY different here!!

I do so much understand what you mean about the sound of a certain bird song--there is nothing that charms me more except maybe the sound of children laughing in the garden! Looks like you had the best of both worlds. Enjoy.

Sweet little cherubs with rosy cheeks! I saw a big blue or purple butterfly outside earlier today. Couldn't tell what it was. I often chirp back at the birds, so insistent are their voices!

Magic moments indeed! Childrens' laughter spilling out all over, their sweet smiles and dancing eyes are truly a joy to our hearts. Your two are like cherubs! As you said "words alone cannot tell....."

Birds sweet song, colourful butterflies, bees and other critters (except naughty bunnies) are truly welcome in your garden. This was a lovely post - thank you for sharing your sanctuary.

What a lovely post again Cheryl and how cheerful the sun makes us all feel after the short and gloomy days of Winter. The Goldfinch looked so surprised to find itself sitting at a new feeder and your golden haired little ones completed your truly golden day.

What beautiful Grandchildren they are! Lucky you!

Cheryl, it's lovely in your garden today! The photo of the puzzled Goldfinch is perfect! We have robins who talk to us each evening...they have been joined by a few others. It's quite a noisy time as they house hunt, court and begin their families! Your grands are lovely...such beautiful eyes. have a good week.

Dear Cheryl,
Your gardens are full of joy!
Seeing the Dunnock sing is a gift. Thank you! Fanstastic photograph.
Always love your sweet bees. This little Honey is charming. Oh my, the Comma is sunning! So much is awake in your gardens.
No other sound is more heavenly to me than the laughter of children.
These two darlings are heaven sent!
Your portraits of these two are fantastic. You have the eye and you know how to get the perfect shot. I started laughing too.
Thank you for sharing your Grandchildren....my heart is lighter because of them.
Thank you for taking care of the bees and the bugs and the birds so they will be here for the next generation. Thank you for showing your grandchildren the joy of the garden.
Love and light,
Sherry

dear cheryl,
your grands are so absolutely beautiful. i love riley's long blond locks. they both have faces of angels. the fact that they can entertain each other is such a nice thing...i have two of my grands today along with abbey and jess. they are on spring break.
our weather is cold and rainy/possbile snow this evening.
your gold finch is listed in my bird books as an accidental eurisan. he is so different than ours...i find that fascinating.
i love the photo of the dunnock in song...so lovely.
love your bees, hoverflies and butterfly. it is magical when all these elements come together with the ones we love.

Dear Sherry......the warmth of the last few days has woken many insects, and the garden seems to have come to life suddenly. Rain is expected for the next few days, so I am sure they will go into hiding. We do need the rain, the beds and borders are quite dry.....

The children are such fun......I enjoy the time they spend here. They both lift my spirit....and keep me centred.....
I am thankful for them everyday.......
Best wishes.....

Dear Marmee....thank you so much. Riley and Poppi are visiting again today. Riley is on Easter holiday, so hopefully I will see more of him.....I love his long hair too....it suits him well.....

Rain and snow, brrrrr...I thought that had finished. Is this usual weather for you??

It is lovely having the bees and bugs around...I always miss them during the winter months....
We have rain expected today.....and the next few days....hopefully growing weather......
