A sweet bird.......

As I gazed from the bedroom window this morning I noticed a bird bouncing across the garden. I knew from experience not to go out, as the bird would take flight without any hesitation. I got my camera and just hoped it would come a little closer. I eventually got one photograph.......click to enlarge.....

A juvenile mistle thrush.....what a lovely surprise.......

How sweet. You can see how young it is with all of those spots on its breast. A great way to start the day.

He looks a little bit like the Hermit Thrush I've seen here in the US.

Now that was a lovely surprise for you, how sweet. The beautiful Song Thrush which serenaded me throughout Spring was eventually taken by a cat, it has saddened me greatly.

Hi Marnie....interesting thank you.....

Fantastic to see a Mistlethrush juvenile! We don't seem to get them around here :( But I do have my fingers crossed for the Song thrushes to visit again!

Hi Jan....I can understand your sadness.......my heart felt heavy reading your comment.

Sadly the thrush family are an easy target for cats etc....

Perhaps you should just cherish the time she spent with you.....and keep the memory close.....

Cheryl, what a delightful little fellow. He looks kind of lumpy, like his body isn't quite through growing, but he has a teenage attitude. Just look at those eyes. Almost an, 'I dare you to come any closer' look. So glad you had a good start to your day.

Hope you have a great weekend!

What a sweet little bird, Cheryl! I've never seen one of these before...or heard of it, for that matter. You certainly got a great photo of it without even having to leave your house:)

Hi Beckie....I think that you are right....he has not quite filled out yet and he appeared to have a bit of an attitude. He made my day.....

I do like its coloring and I'm guessing from its beak that it's a bird of prey?

Dear Cheryl,
Oh my goodness what an amazing blessing! He is darling and such a delight to see.
It is so difficult to take photogrpahs of all the darlings that come to call. When I am able to I am delighted.
I also love the darling bird on your header! Birda nd bugs and blooms seems to be whar we are all about! I am behind this week. The weather has turned delightful and I am outside!
Happy Weekend!
Looking forward to safari.

The mistle thrush is a sweet and gentle bird....she can fly now, although it is a little unpredictable.....
