Blogging Break.......

I have spent every spare minute working in the gardens. Light showers Thursday and Friday have given the plants a lift. There is still much to do, so I will not be blogging for the next month. During that time Mr P and I are going to take our daughter.............
Riley..........

and Poppi for a two week holiday in Florida. There is much planned for the little ones....Disney, of course. Also walks along some of the beautiful beaches....Sanibel springs to mind. The last time Mr P and I visited Florida was 1992....I will be interested to see if things have changed.

So I will leave you with the following photographs which were taken in the garden today....a lot of hard work but it does look so much better......
I caught this image of a fly whilst using my camera......now that is creepy, don't you think?
I have found one advantage to the dry conditions, I have not had to get the tractor mower out to cut the grass. I cannot remember the last time I used it.
We have another heatwave approaching us ......it should arrive mid week...temperature are predicted to be around 27 C (86F).......I hope it does not last too long......
I will post again on the 4th October.......until then, stay well, stay happy and have fun in your garden............

I hope you have a wonderful time Cheryl, I don't want to imagine the temperatures you'll be dealing with in Florida... :)

I hope to see many wonderful photos when you return, and I'm sure the garden will be fine with the cooler temperatures... Hmmm!

You are smart to work first, then play! in contrast, I have a LOT of work to do this fall! Also, believe it or not, I've never been to Florida! Have fun and I wish you were coming closer to MI!

Oh my gosh. You will be so close yet so far away. Do have a good time in FL. You will no doubt see how things have changed. It is so congested in that area now. I hope you make it to SeaWorld while you are in the area. I so enjoyed that with my children when they were young. The pace is slower. Of course it might be that it has changed a lot too. Hopefully by the time you return the weather will be in autumn mode and it will a pleasure to come home to. Who will keep your sweet little dog?? Have FUN.

You'll have fun.
Maybe a bit of afternoon showers and temps mid to high 80's.
The crowds should be gone since school started as early as last week in some locations here.
Enjoy the holiday.

Hi Liz....I shall not worry about the temperatures.....there is always the shade....and I won't have to work. We are renting a house and hiring a car, so we can do what we want, when we want.

The garden..... nature will have to take its course and rabbits, oh dear I can't believe I said that......

Well Monica.....one day I might just end up in your part of the country....watch this space......

Hi Lisa....Nella will be well taken care of....she will not be far away......people nearby.....

There is so much to do but we will also have days at the house. There is an indoor pool, so lazing about reading or swimming will be perfect. The little ones will get tired so they will need wind down days.....
I remember Sea World....and yes it is a slower pace.....

Thank you Ruth and Patsy.....most kind.....

Oh Cheryl, how wonderful! You will have such a good time! I absolutely love the ocean. I've never been to Sanibel, but I hear it's beautiful. I remember taking my children to Disney world eons ago. Seems like only yesterday.
Little Poppi and Riley will have such fun - and exciting memories to bring home with them.

Your garden looks so colourful and pretty. Flowers blooming with good health and greenery enhancing everything around it.

Have a good holiday. I'll miss you.
Hugs

Oh Cheryl! I am so excited for you--although I wish it were Texas you were visiting instead of Florida! Have a wonderful Holiday.

All of your pictures are beautiful as usual. The fern you have in one of the shots--is that a cinnamon fern?

Cheryl, I wish you a wonderful time! But I know you will--seeing Disney World through the eyes of children makes it magical. I have to agree with Lisa; if you get a chance, do visit Sea World as well. My children liked it as much as Disney World. Like the others, I do wish I lived closer to Florida so we could get together.
Such lovely views of the garden; I look forward to seeing it and your photos when you return.

Your gardens look so lovely. I know it is lots and lots of hard work keeping things tidy and restoring your grounds to native habitat but so worth every minute. The wildlife do depend on you.
Have a wonderful vacation....
the children will remember this time forever.
May your Florida time refresh your spirits.
Always sending many blessings...

Have a wonderful time. If you go up to Captiva, be sure to stop at the Mucky Duck for the best grouper sandwich in the USA.

You will indeed find some changes in Sanibel but it is still wonderful with those great seashells.

Thank you NCmountainwoman....we may just do that....I must make notes of everything people are suggesting.......

Hi Cheryl,
I don't have your email, and I just wanted to share something with you. It was full moon (early september) and as usual I was rather cross at not being able to see the bright full moon out my window. Or even from my back deck.
There are so many trees here, I have to walk (or bike) down the street to get a good view of the full moon.

I read a comment you left on somebody else's blog about seeing the full moon through the leaves of your oak trees on your property and immediately I was filled with a calmness. It must have been how you expressed yourself. You sounded calm, serene, and thankful to have watched the moon as its light filtered through the leaves. As if it were a blessing to catch a glimpse of her; whereas I was pouting like a small child.

My anger evaporated instantly, thanks to you. So I'd like to give you a big hug and a Thank You!

Cheryl said...

Dear Wendy.....thank you....such a beautiful comment....I glad that you found peace with the full moon.
I always find peace with the moon....I am a moon child. I often stand in the garden when the moon is bright....we have no street lighting.....she lights my gardens for me.....

I can see you in my mind's eye....just you and the moon......
