Longing for Spring

The cold weather continues. The ground is frozen........I have achieved very little in the garden.
I need to see bees and bugs and things.

I need the sun on the back of my neck as I weed a border.

I need to hear the drone of a bumble.
I need colour.........
Blue skies would be nice, with a big yellow ball.

AMEN to needing color etc. We have had a couple of really warm days. The snow is gone except in the shadiest parts of the garden. I actually saw a few mosquitoes. UGH... Have a great week. I hope you are off having fun in the sun.

Hi Cheryl,

I think the whole of the UK and even the US will agree with you when they wish for blue skies, that yellow thing in the sky and colour...

I hope you have a wonderful week, and come back refreshed and thoroughly relaxed and ready to work in the garden! :)

If you had seen the thawing snow on the hemlock (the one I thought was cow parsley until I got your present) this morning, the birds feasting on apples and oat flakes and a crazy Jack Russell tearing around in the snow you wouldn't be wishing away winter so fast! (Why do camera batteries go flat at the wrong moment?)

Cheryl, we are having rain-at least for now and hopefully it won't turn into snow. It has been a long, long winter for so many of us! Your photos of bees and flowers are a welcome sight. It's fun to remember what they looked like. :)

Have a great holiday and enjoy some quiet time.

Oh, I agree, Cheryl! It is dreary here, too, with a little snow, then rain, all with cloudy, gray skies. Your photos are a welcome respite from the gloom outside. Spring will come...but soon, I hope!

Enjoy your week away!

Oh Cheryl, your photos are spectacular! I love the colours of your flowers and the bees doing what bees do! You really have a good eye.

February is almost done. March around the corner.

Have a wonderful week. Will miss you.

Oh yes, Cheryl! Sunshine, warmth and blue skies is what we all need and all the flowers, birds and insects that come with them...the sooner the better now.

We have had more snow, what a Winter it has been but your lovely photos are a wonderful reminder of better things to come.

I hope you have a very enjoyable break and that you see some blue skies and sunshine :)

I am ready for spring as well, Cheryl. We did have a spring like weekend, and most of our snow finally melted. And I saw my first daffodil shoots! So it is coming. Enjoy the day! Art

Hi Cheryl, my computer crashed just as I hit send comment. Hope it went thru. If not, just wanted to say I'm wishing for an early spring too.

We had about 8 inches of snow overnight (yay!), which has melted into a big mushy mess (boo!). Colors and bugs are a long way off yet here. Have fun on your week away.

What beautiful pictures.

I love the lazy buzz of bees in the herb garden. When I go out to snip a few herbs for dinner or a salad.

It will be a month or so before our snow is gone, so I'll enjoy your flowers and bees today.

me, too Cheryl, I've been in a huge blue funk from the constant cold and rainy weather and have fallen behind in even visiting dear friends (sorry).
I want to feel warm again, smell the scents on the breeze and hear the bees buzzing happily as they visit plants. Hoping it happens soon, xxgail
