Update

Snowdrops appear at the darkest time of the year,
and insist that spring is coming.

I don't think so!!

Hi Cheryl, Will it make you feel any better that snowdrops are 4-6 weeks away here, at a minimum? No? Well, at least it makes me feel worse!! (Wait... that didn't some out right...)

Hi Cheryl,

Ouch, that looks like a good old covering of snow :(

I hope it will melt quickly for you and you can get your jobs done in the garden!

Winter has been too wintry for my tastes! Last year we had hellebores, the first crocus and daffs...thank goodness we have Diane and Bernice witchhazels blooming. Here's hoping that a warming trend moves into your part of the garden~ Have a sweet Valentine's day with the family. gail

Hi Cheryl - thought you might need cheering up with even more snow - we've got a covering here too but the best bit is that it brings loads more birds into the garden - the downside is that I never get any work done with the distractions!! Love the snowdrop pics... take care Miranda x

Monica......you get the vote for making me smile. Everytime you do it....you are better than any tonic I could buy......

Now what was that about a blogging break? :)

Oh goodness! We only had a dusting but I thought about you last night when I saw the forecast, hold on Cheryl, it can't go on much longer...can it?

Sorry you got the snow.
It's bitterly cold here but thank goodness we've only had the odd flurry.
All the cake has gone - mostly down my throat!!

Such a pretty snow picture though! I'm hoping to get a snow picture tomorrow as it's supposed to snow for a long time. That's very unusual for us. I saw all your rabbit damage. Sorry. Makes me thankful I don't have to deal with that.

Hi Liz: Too much snow....it lasted for around 11 hours. The garden is on hold again.....

Hi Gail....Most people seem to have had a bad winter this year. I must say it doesn't usually get me down but this winter is one I would not like a repeat of.....

Hi Cindee....indeed spring will come eventually.......it is that thought that is keeping me going at the moment.

Hi Miranda, I have such a lot I need and want to do, the snow is just so inconvenient.
Have a good week.......

Hi Jan.....tku for reminding me. It was just today the snow really got me down, so just wanted to let someone know. Who better then fellow bloggers....
I have a feeling when this weather eventually breaks we will have a lovely spring......

Your garden looks like mine Cheryl. I am hoping that the snowdrops are peeking out of the snow by the 15th for GBBD. If not I will have to dig them out.

Wouldn't it be interesting if I can send you back some seeds from your very own cardoon if mine grow?? I sure hope they do.

Snowdrops are supposed to come out in the snow - aren't they? Or, maybe they popped up to tell the snow to just go away! And stay away! LOL!

Your pics are lovely. I do like the pristine and fresh look about the snow drops.

Sending lots of "snow-melting" thoughts your way.
Stay warm.

Oh my, Cheryl, your house looks like ours! I do hope your snowdrops are right and that spring is just around the corner. It will be several weeks before I see any here, I'm sure, though the weatherman has promised us a warm March. I am so ready for it!

Oh my, Dear Cheryl,
What a beautiful wintry photo of your gazebo and home. I suppose I shouldn't complain in the slightest about the extra harsh winter Florida has had when compared to you and so many other blogging friends. The upside is that Winter is half over... I imagine all your bees can't wait to come back to visit your wildlife sanctuary...

Hi Cheryl, It's good to see your beautiful photos - Spring will come eventually! We've had non-stop rain here in No California - fortunately I was in Portland most of last week and I actually saw the sun for two whole days!

Thank you Cheryl, I think you have a wonderful blog and you obviously enjoy your garden and I thus enjoy your blog...

Dear Sherry....I do wonder how the garden and bugs will be after this exceptionally cold winter. Most of our weather has come from the east, making it extremely cold.

Spring, at this time, seems such a long way away........and yet when it arrives all this will be forgotten.....

Have a fun weekend......

Cheryl said...

Hi Lisa....I had to remove the snow from my snowdrops...they were completely covered...

That would be wonderful, don't you think? I look forward to seeing if your cardoons grow.....

Cheryl said...

Hi Wendy....getting those snow melting vibes.....keep up the good work....lol

Cheryl said...

Hi Rose....surely March will be warm....we have all had a rotten cold winter.
Mind you once the summer comes we will all complain about the heat....lol

Cheryl said...

Hi Meems....it would seem that most have had a horrible winter. It doesn't matter temperatures, it is down to what is normal, for our part of the world.

Hope your gardens are surviving and doing well.....

Hi Amy....sun for two days....I am so envious. Sun for two hours would be most welcome.......

Hope you had a wonderful time in Oregon......

Cheryl, I know you must be upset at the weather, but what a beautiful scene. I imagine the snow put a stop to some of your projects-hopefully it won't lastlong and you can get back out there. Your snow drops brought a smile. How gorgeous!

We are still getting snow and cold and icy roads. It was a challenging week getting to and from work. Hope all is well with you and yours. :)

Oh my, Cheryl! It does look like a winter wonderland of snow. But the snowdrops are a promise of the coming Spring. Hang in there!

I adore your double snowdrops, dear Cheryl...but, I must say I was surprised to see you have had snow again. I thought we gardeners, north of the border, were the only ones left with snow to contend with.

Regarding your rabbit infestation...my farming friends have Jack Russells and swear by their ability to exterminate rabbits....unfortunately, it seems to be the only way to ensure the longevity of their plants.

I love your Katharine Hodgekin irises...stunningly beautiful :)

Poppi looks as if she is one of the fairies in your garden, and fairest of all...I'm sure she will belong there for the rest of her life :)

I love your camera, for it enables me to the the world around you through your eyes :)

To keep bouyant and stave away those Winter blues, write down a few good things you see in your garden every day...and Spring will soon be here :)
