Fancy a stroll????

I thought today I would take you on a walk...........when I take my dogs out this is the lane I frequently stroll......in the summer it is lovely and cool as the large oak trees provide plenty of shade........in the winter the wind blows across these lanes and there is no coverage with the leaves gone, it is absolutely freezing.....I have to say that is what I love, that fact that it can be extreme and I love to be out in the elements......
There are old barns dotted around.....good places for owls, swallows or other creatures to take shelter or make their nests.......

Old gates bar the way......I would love to know where they lead but it is private property....but I am curious by nature......

This is one of my favourite trees on the walk.......it is a willow, full of holes and secret places.......ivy is growing up the huge trunk......it must be several hundred years old.......
The view across the fields are stunning at any time of the year.........and I love the silence as I walk..........I didn't see a soul today and that suits me.......
There are lots of wooded areas and ponds in these fields, making it a wonderful place for wildlife....
I never tire of the scenery, it changes constantly....there is always something different to see....the changing colours............the starkness of winter........

Well I think that is enough for one day...........time to take the dogs back.....I hope you have enjoyed seeing where I live...................
Have a wonderful weekend...........

This is glorious! I love solitude and windy secret roads. I am jealous that you and your dear doggies get to see this everyday. I am sure my Floyd would miss her view though.

No wonder you lve your area so much. Not only do you have lovely gardens, but you are surrounded by a beautiful countryside. It all looks so very English! One day I would love to stroll with you-if I could intrude. (Maybe someday...sigh)

Hope your weekend is a good one to Cheryl.

Thanks for taking us on this stroll, Cheryl! It all looks so peaceful and secluded. Although we live in the "country," we live on a very busy road. It's hard for me to take a walk without having to move to the side for passing cars (which drive much too fast!). Your walk looks like the peaceful kind I enjoy--lots of inspiration for quiet contemplation.
Have a good weekend, too.

I didn't realize that you lived in such country setting. I know you really love it. It looks very serene and ever changing with the seasons. That is some stroll you are able to take without seeing anyone.

Ilove to stroll in the countryside and your county side looks like a place I would love to stroll in. Thanks so much for taking us with you today. I am sure Luna would love to romp with your dogs there. She would sneak in through or under the gate. She can squeeze through a smalll space for such a big dog and love to do it too. She doesn't get the opportunity to be off leash often. Poor girl.

Thank you for taking us on your stroll. I enjoyed the solitude and scenery as well. I think I'd be pretty tempted to climb over that gate and see where it really does go? Curious? Well so am I. And why not?
Your willow tree sounds fabulous. I am sure it would be one of my favourites too. They are so majestic and you can swing from the branches and hide beneath..
Have a wonderful weekend too!

Everything looks so lush and green. I would like that route for a walk. We are fortunate to have many green areas close to home even though we live in a good sized city.

I find I am an explorer by nature - so your stroll was great. I have to say I lived near that gate I would just have to ask the owners for a private peek down the path.

I really like the architecture of the buildings and hedges in the last photo...hmmm maybe order is okay sometimes.

You certainly live in a beautiful and quiet part of our country, Wish we where a bit quieter, unfortunately our road has become a 'rat run'!!!

Hi Rose.......our road can be busy to but once I turn down a lane it is peaceful......there is no such thing as the perfect place.....remember I have the railway at the bottom of the garden to......life is what we make it and I have got used to this place for the good points and the bad........

Hi Baker it doesn't always happen that way.....sometimes I see the odd cyclists or horserider........

Oh how wonderful! You live out in the country. It does look peaceful. The dogs and I have to walk on the sidewalks here in our neighborhood, but sometimes on the Greenbelt, we will see a family of deer late at night. Thanks for inviting us along!
