Hi ......I'm back......

Back from a much needed rest.....Mr P an I escaped to Almeria, and spent quality time in a place that we love. Walking the back streets of tiny villages in the hills, strolling deserted beeches, eating beautiful food...............and having time to talk.....so important in a relationship. Before we left there was a party at "our house" ...........a 38th wedding anniversary.....where did that time go Mr P????
Also little Poppi was three, she shares the date with us........how blessed are we.......whats a girl to wear on her big day....will this do??

"Grandpop, you know that I am a fairy."
"Yes Poppi."
"Well my wings are a little tired today and I can't seem to fly....could you help me please?"
"Of course, for you anything"

"Hows that Poppi?"...........................

To complete our celebrations, while we were away Mum-in-law would celebrate her 86th birthday...............so the party was indeed a special one.............
I have had a wonderful time away but for me the coming home is the best.......back to my family, friends, my dogs and of course my garden.............when the plane touches down and I am back in the country that I love, I cannot wait to drive those lanes and get home.

The photographs above were taken today .............the first one, my favourite gladioli, I have uploaded twice, it was a mistake, but it is so wonderful I left it, the fragrance is divine, not unlike jasmine. Some of the plants are putting on another show, and the leaves on others are turning.............the apples are blushing and are now perfect for eating..............do you know something, my dear blogging friends......there is nowhere else on earth that I would rather be..................
It really is so lovely to be home...................

NOTE: Thank you to my dear daughter for watering my baskets and barrels etc during the hot spell.............
Thank you to my Grandson for phoning and just saying "I missed you Nanna"
Thank you to my neighbour for taking care of my dogs (they could not be in better hands) and for the eggs she left (she rescued several hens from the battery farm.....they now live a wonderful life with her.............and I love her for that.....)
Thank you to my dear friends Jenny and David for always being there if they are needed.....................YOU ARE ALL GREAT.................... and bloggers I've missed you loads.................

Welcome home!! sounds as though youhad a wonderful time-much needed quiet and rest. And then so much to celebrate! Happy anniversary. You rae right-where does the time go. I guess when you spend it with your soul mate, time is fleeting.

Happy birthdays to Poppi and your MIL, too. Sometimes even fairies need a little help from grandpas.

We missed you, but knew you would enjoy your time and come back ready to be in your lovely gardens and with your blogging friends.

Your garden looks as lovely as always-thanks for sharing.

And we have missed you! Welcome back, Cheryl. I am so glad you had a wonderful trip; it's always good to get away for awhile--it makes us appreciate home that much more. But I know you must have missed your garden and especially your darling little fairy.

Congratulations on your anniversary! Love that wedding picture of you--where DO the years go?

I was so excited when I saw your comment on my post today--"Cheryl's back!" I know you probably have so much to catch up on--besides blogging--but I'm looking forward to seeing what is going on in your world again.

It's lovely to have a holiday and just take care of yourself.
But the return home is another feeling that I really can't explain.

Thanks for sharing,
Patsi

Dear Cheryl,
Lovely post! Happy to see your darlings in the people world and in the plant kingdom. Poppi is so sweet.
Welcome home. It is good to travel east, it is good to travel west but it is always best, to travel home. So glad to know you had a fun, relaxing time. Your commitment to family and to your husband is inspiring. I love to bask in the glow of my blooms, bugs and birds too but understand the need for my husband to get away from the "work" and relax. Walking the beach and the little streets sounds fantastic.
Happy Autumn. A perfect day to reconnect. Looking forward to seeing your gardens in their Autumn dress. The wheel is turning.
Namaste,
Sherry

Ohh welcome back Cheryl xxx I was only saying the same to Mich a day or so ago!! Glad you had a nice time away and happy anniversary - congrats to you and Mr P and much love to xxxx

Your pictures are wonderful, especially the family ones - thank you for sharing them - and those dinks are getting more gorgeous by the day, bless their hearts. It was nice to see your wedding photo as well. Awww, bet it only seems like yesterday.

I'm like you ie it's nice to go away but it's even better to come home. I alway get a bit of a buzz when the plane touches down on English soil - silly really, but I've always been the same.

Glad you're back and hope you are both well xxx

Such a happy month for you with birthdays and your anniversary.
Little Poppi looks so sweet with all her pink balloons.
First day of autumn, as Sherry said - a good time to reconnect.
I look forward to reading your posts and peeking in your garden once more.

Welcome home Cheryl. I was wondering when you were returning to blogland.

Congratulations on 38yrs of marriage. WOW very impressive. The wedding picture of you and MR P is sweet. What a lovely young couple.

Your garden certainly looks lush even though you have been away. That apple looks like it needs a big bite out of it.

I hope now that you have settled in by having a grand party for all the celebrants that you can relax and enjoy your garden. I will look forward to all your posts.

Congratulations on your anniversary! How lovely to go south to Spain for your holidays. Sounds far more exotic than Florida or Arizona, where many Canadians go to get winter sun.

Wow! - we love yur wedding photo - Mr P, looking like a young Beatle and Cheryl, so very glamorous. I'm in awe of people who manage to make it work for all those years - so special. At Simons wedding on Saturday the Vicar said
"Is there anything more lovely than 2 young hands clasped together in love? I say there is, those same 2 hands, now gnarled and wrinkled 40 years later still clasped together in love"
Your dogs were delightful guests - and the chickens are laying eggs for Britain!! And looking soooo much better
Welcome Home!
with our love
