Wonderment.........

I watch Poppi.......was I ever that small.......it seems the blink of an eye brought me into the adult world. She studies one area for many minutes........a wasp has died, her sharp eyes found it. She sees the little things.

Fascinated I watch her move around the copse.........carefully putting food on the ground for the birds.

She hides some underneath the logs, so that the shy birds may find the seed......

Her tiny hands gently giving..........
lost in her own little world.......a world full of wonder.........
Always finding time to stop a moment, to look and learn.......
If a child is to keep alive her inborn sense of wonder without any such gift from the fairies, she needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with her the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.
I still have the child in me, do you?

You two really are kindred spirits - I think that's lovely. I love all the pics Cheryl but the last one for me is just gorgeous. She is lost in her own little world, bless her heart. She is a real nature girl isn't she. And how nice that she is already looking after the creatures you share your space with. She's a very special little soul xxx

I am covered in goosebumps reading this post, to pop over to your blog and step back and see Poppi in a totally different way to how she is at home, is just wonderful. Two precious beings wandering, daydreaming, caring and sharing time together...
To see my daughter following in my mums footsteps - what more can I say.
Thank you for being the best nanna they could ever wish for,
Mich

My heart leaps every time you feature you precious Poppi. I do hope you are printing and binding these wonderful pages for her. What a treasure it would be to present to her when she has her own little fairy to admire and love while flitting around the garden.

Cheryl, Poppi is so lucky to have a Nana to share her sense of wonderment with her.
I always love seeing your photos of Poppi; she reminds me of a garden fairy flitting about, spreading her magic.

I just read Lisa's comment--that is a wonderful idea; I do hope you are saving these for her.

So precious. Isn't it great how our gardens can capture the minds and attention of our children and grandchildren? If only more people opened this so-called door for their children, and showed them the wonderment of nature!

i love seeing poppi in your garden, it's like seeing you years ago. i believe we can all tap into our inner child but what better time to do it than with one of our own children/grandchildren. it allows us to really be ourselves, silly, fun, whimsical, all child like behaviours that sometimes are lost in adult moments...i love sharing the garden with the little ones.

I love your Poppi posts. It is hard at times to reclaim that childlike ability to continuously discover. I think in this way, I am still childlike. I love asking why and finding out how things work and noticing the little things. Give her a hug for me.

I Think I still have the child in me. Having ther granddaughters certainly help keep it alive. Isn't it wonderful to see things through their eyes? To share in their wonder of them world and nature- to feel their compassion for all living creatures and plants.

Your Poppi is blessed to have you to nurture her love of the garden and it's creatures. You will teach her musc and she will learn. But she will also teach you.

Thank you for sharing such precious times with her.

This is a lovely posting - I look back often and treasure the times I spent with my Granny in particular in her garden and outdoors as well as my Mum too - time spent is a precious thing and not something people have a lot of these days which is a shame.... but spending time with children does help you re-discover all those things you did when you were younger too... great isn't it! Keep having fun! Miranda

Oh by the way, I love that swing - wish I had one like that out at my pond !
All of your posts are so marvelous and I'm sorry that I can't get to comment on every one of them.
Keep up the good work and God bless you,
Graceanne :)

Dear Graceanne....how lovely of you to come visit. Poppi is a darling and we have such a lovely time together. The swing chair is a favourite spot for Mr P...a few cushions and a nice cool drink and it is somewhere to have a nice nap when the day is too hot.....

I hope that you are keeping well.....
