Bees and clover.....

The bees came back today to visit the clover....the bumblebee was the first to arrive......Next the honeybee and he looked very happy.......The bees were expecting a visitor....."Hello bees" said Poppi "May I pick some flowers for Mummy?""Of course" said the bees "There are plenty of flowers here, enough for us all."
"I like bees Nanna.".........................."So do I Poppi, so do I."

Thank you for your lovely words Cheryl xx I will be thinking of you on Monday. We are on No 1 court opposite the umpires chair, almost in line with it and about 3 rows from the very front. Now how about that for good seats!! BUT if it rains then of course, it is a different story. Fingers crossed for a dry day. We do love our tennis - that is how I met Richard, who is a very talented tennis player. I used to like playing but was never that good - I think my strengths lie elsewhere!!!!

There is something about the strawberries at Wimbledon, they are huge and so sweet and yummy. Maybe it is the atmosphere but we have never ever tasted better. How lovely of Mother Nature to give us food like that. We wont be having champagne though because we tend to meet up with people in the Pimms Bar and end up with jugs galore of the stuff. Oh Pimms and strawberries - it is the very essence of England to me!!!

Re Michelle, it is my absolute pleasure. Her stuff is so nice and so reasonable - best on the net we think. You know Cheryl I started this blog as a direct result of Michelle because I admired her Pink Petticoat work so much (and the lovely Terrie who I just adore) as well. And during my first unsteady and unsure blog days, she gave me a mention on her blog and it just sort of got going from there - I really did appreciate her kindness.

Your pictures as always are just stunning but of course, my favourite ones are of Poppi.

I am just off now to water the pots and baskets, so take care xxx

Pimms is great....Mr practical and I had one on Saturday sitting in the garden. It was lovely.

You are very kind Dawny re Michelle, and I am glad that you have done so well with your blog....long may it continue for you.
Have fun out there.....will be thinking of you when I watch the tennis.....

A nice post and great timing. What did I spot this morning? A bee in the white clover. I check the day's garden posts and see... bees in the clover!

It's so wonderful to see bees in the garden. Poppi looks right at home in your garden.

I think it's great that you have your produce delivered to your house and that it comes from local sources. Would that we had that here!

Poppi looks so happy to be in the midst of the bees and flowers. Very serene and contented. Wonder who she takes after?! ;0 She is really growing. I can tell from some pictures you had of her earlier this year. They sure don't stay little for long do they. She would fit right in with my grands. I'll bet they would have a great time exploring nature together.

Will pop over Chris....we seem to be connected in thoughts of bees!!!!

Hi Kate....box delivery is great, it keeps me fit and healthy, cuts air miles and helps the local farmers, all of which I care about......

Hi Beckie....Poppi and I are twinned souls...she is so content in the garden....we spend hours together there. She has changed, and they do grow so very quickly.

Poppi loves older children she would, I am sure, have much fun with your precious grandchildren....

Hi Steve tks for the link...likewise, I expect you have noticed.
I think it is so important to teach our children about the flora and fauna that lives alongside us.
I did with my children and now with my grandchildren. It is a wonderful journey to take with them............

Cheryl, such a sweet post. The bumblebees came to my garden yesterday, and I actually got a couple photos, though they kept hiding from me.
Poppi is adorable; I bet she enjoys coming to Nanna's house. My 3-year-old grandson was over for a little while yesterday and before he left he had to show his mother the flowers he had helped me plant. He was so proud.

Dear Cheryl,
Poppi is very, very sweet. Wonderful she has you and you her. Grandmother can teach and share the wonders of the natural world. She is learning now how to be with the bees. She will learn how to talk with the bees and tell her dear secrets to them. It is a joy for me to know there are young ones growing up with the love of the bees and wild places. We have hope with precious spirits like Poppi.
Thank you Cheryl, for sharing your sweet granddaughter.
Sherry

Thank you dear Sherry for such warm words.....Poppi and I talk to the bees, butterflies and we listen to the birdsong. She has a natural affinity with nature, and is most happy among the trees and flowers. I try to teach her about the herbs....she knows that thyme helps her little chest when she has a cold now. We ate thyme flowers today....she watched the bees on them first. It is a joy to be with her and just watch her gentle ways. It is a pleasure to share her with you Sherry.....
