Busy Monday....

Another sunny day, the garden is quite dry at the moment. Although nights are still chilly we have not had rain. The woodland area I planted....
is taking shape this year. I am pleased with how this area has developed.
Just look at the fruits on the old apple tree, so perfect. I can't wait for autumn......thoughts of apple crumble come to mind.....
Found these little beauties in the grass today....I must show Poppi tomorrow.....
The crocosmia is just starting to come into bloom.
And the phygelius yellow trumpet are looking good.
This pretty plant has appeared in one of the tubs. I didn't put it there, the tub has an acacia tree in it and I never underplant. Wherever it came from, I am grateful, it is so lovely.
This is one of the hanging baskets..........the plants are surviving well, despite strong winds, and drops in temperature. Previous years, the baskets are normally looking quite shabby....so it would appear I am restricted to herbs and nasturtiums for my basket planting......at least they are colourful.

Woody is still around, this was taken from my bedroom window, through glass, hence the poor image.
The rabbits are producing well, they seem to increase everytime I go out........Where is that fox????
Another moth on the door this morning..........I looked in my book and couldn't find it....I will have another look tonight, when I have more time.
Just came in for a break to do this post......back to the garden, to deadhead the plants......have fun out there......

Your woodland garden is wonderful Cheryl. I love seeing the birds and bunnies.
I have some of those pesky bunnies in the garden. They are just the size to be nibbling everything in sight. They haven't learned yet to hide from Luna. Luna has plowed through several flower beds after the litttle varmints.

Your surpirse plant is a lovely shade of pink. Surely a keeper.

Your hanging basket is so lush looking. I think it gorgeous. A good combination of plants.

Cheryl, I just took some pictures of my apple trees the other day, too--looks like a good year for apples! Your hanging basket is beautiful; you've apparently hit upon the right combination.
We've had some rain showers, but apparently not enough to really soak the ground. I've been spending the morning watering.

Cheryl, the woodlands are beautiful. Your hard work has made a wonderful place of nature. Those apples look delicious. I imagine Poppie will like those pretty mushrooms. They look like little gnome houses. I think your basket with the herbs and nasturtiums are quite attractive. Don't work too hard!

Hi Lisa...that is the trouble with the young rabbits, they chomp thru everything and don't even eat it.. Grrrrrrr The little pink plant is definately a keeper, it is really a pretty.

I have tried many plant combinations in baskets, they just don't survive here with the strong winds, that sweep across the garden. So it looks like I have found a survivor, even though it is not what I would plant by choice.

Isn't is curious how those little toadstools or mushrooms pop up out of no-where? Loved your baskets; they look so hardy and full (and colourful too).
Bunny is sweet - I know, I know, they're not sweet when they nibble at your flowers.
The bee in your header looks so lovely against the yellow flower, as if the flower is cradling it.

endy.....The bunnies are a bit of a nuisance because they sometimes eat the plants that I grow for the bees, butterflies and birds. But I don't dislike them and I could never hurt them......

I think maybe I should get back to 'ordinary' gardening!! Have a lawn and proper flower beds! Lose the veg and the jungle!!! Mmmmm, tempting!!!!

Hi Libby......You know you don't mean that.......

HI Cheryl, what a fantastic garden. I think the moth might be a member of the Oligia family something like marbled minor or tawny marbled minor. They can be quite variable and tricky to seperate.

Thanks John....that is really helpful...although I am by no means an expert I do like to know what is visiting my garden.

Dear Cheryl,
My goodness the week has gotten away from me, again! Lots of appointments this past week. It is too hot and humid to be outside so I get to come visiting! I so enjoy seeing your flowers. I always love mystery flowers. Perhaps it is a, "Sweet Poppi"! I do have e tendancy to name all my unknown flowers!
Your woodland garden is lovely. I would spend many afternoons under your old apple tree.

Dear Sherry....Doesn't time go so quickly......it is still chilly here for this time of year but the sun is shining.
I like that naming mystery plants....good thinking on your part.
