The garden today.......

With sunshine, showers and cool nights, it has been perfect weather for the garden. Instead of writing about the garden today I thought I would leave you to look at the photographs. I am a great one for sayings, so under each picture are the ones I probably use most. Of course for the picture above it has to be................To be as busy as a bee......that is to be well occupied.
To not see the wood for the trees.......to fail to find the answer even if it is staring straight at you.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.....to be content with what you have got.
To be led down the garden path.....to be conned or influenced.
To sow your wild oats.....to enjoy a period of sexual prowess.
To dig yourself a hole.......to put yourself into an embarrasing situation by your own actions.

To feel as fresh as a daisy....to feel refreshed and clean.
To be a thorn in someone's side......to be a constant annoyance to them.
To be as cool as a cucumber.....to be very laid back and relaxed.
To be as common as dirt.....to be ordinary and unremarkable.
To have everything coming up roses....to have everything going extremely well.
The garden is looking lush and full of colour. This summer has been really good so far. I am not that keen on really hot weather...so despite the heavy periods of rain that we have had, I am enjoying warm days, cool nights and scattered showers. It looks as though the garden is enjoying it to........

I love that burgundy nasturtium. Mine are a long way from flowering yet, you must have started very early.

Hi Warrior woman....popped them in the soil in late March. I am surprised they have done so well. Tks for dropping.

Dear Cheryl,
Your gardens are works of art!
Very beautiful.
I too use many of your sayings...
steady as she goes is my way...slow and deliberate.
Thank you for the garden tour.
I am harvesting the lavender.

Oh how lovely! I like your saying and most all are used here as well. And each shot of your garden was prettier tan the one before. What a joy it is to see. I am so happy you are seeing some bees in your garden! So while you may not have enjoyed all the rain-your garden did!

Yikes - how did you come up with so many "sayings?" Don't think I could remember that many. LOL.
It was fun to read them posted under your lovely pics. Glad you are having better weather - and it does look like your garden likes it too.

Every time you show a broader view of your garden, I see a different area I've never seen before. I'm becoming more and more impressed with all the work you have done. Did you build the playset, too?:)

Thanks for your kind reply to comment on your last post. We may never have met face to face, but I think of you as a dear friend.

Hi Beckie.....that is one reason I posted to see if other countries used them.....

Hi Wendy....my mother always used sayings...so they stay with you for life.

Hi Rose....Mr. P put the playset together.....but we would bought the kit. The grandchildren have fun on it.

You don't have to meet to be friends, I to consider you and Beckie as dear friends....when I visit blogs you are both first on my list.....

I too prefer to work in the cool of the morning, then dive inside before the sun gets me!!! lol!!
I planted nasturtiums last year, such a gorgeous flower, brilliant and cheerful. This year it is popping up everywhere and often no where near where it was last year either!!!!!!lol!
