Sunny Sunday.

Finding something different in the garden each day becomes more difficult as the season progresses. The little allium above is an unexpected surprise, there are about five or these that have appeared. They were in the mixed bag of alliums I bought in the Autumn. I never expected this lovely blue flower.
This beautiful Lavatera was an extravagant buy, it was very expensive but now it is in bloom I am not disappointed.
The flowers look as though they are made of silk.....I am so pleased with it.
This little bird is a bull finch. After thirty years of gardening I have only ever seen one, so when this little chap appeared I needed to take a photograph. He only stayed a few seconds, so I was so lucky to get this. They are exremely shy birds and usually hideaway in hedgerows or dense bushes. Not a good picture but at least I got one, I was so pleased.
My packet of nasturtium seeds that I planted around the garden have all started to bloom. These cheap and cheerful flowers are a so good for filling empty spaces or dotting amongst other plants in tubs.

I have planted them in hanging baskets and for the first year ever they are looking good.
As I posted a few months ago my baskets never do well because of the south facing position and the exposed site. These little plants seem to be the answer for me. When they are full of blooms I will take a photograph.
I love the colours....
and have a mixture in each basket.
I am pleased with this basket arrangement....they have cost me little in time and money....and at least I will have colour for the whole summer this year. There are five basket stands on the drive, so as you come in there will be a bright and sunny welcome. What do you think???

Oh yes - a bright and sunny welcome indeed! I'll be there in the blink of an eye. LOL!
I am really impressed with your photo of the bull finch. He is so sweet. How lucky you were able to take his pic before he flew off.
Oooooo - I love the lavatera. Don't know if we have any, but will look it up. It's so nice to learn as we have fun. I've learned so much from other peoples' blogs.

Gorgeous blooms in your garden Cheryl. The Bullfinch is quite handsome. Most birds are difficult to photograph. I get so frustrated trying to photograph them.

I agree finding new blooms in the garden is very exciting and not easy to find in mid summer. I like the colors on those nasturtium

I think they are gorgeous! Such brightly colored flowers will give a hearty welcome to all. The blue allium is also so pretty. I have never seen a blue one. You don't have to worry about finding something new each time. I could look at your gardens all day. So glad you got to see the bird. I know getting a picture of him was exciting for you. Hope your week is good.

Cheryl, Every day you show something new blooming! The lavatera is indeed beautiful; the flower reminds me a little of a hollyhock.
