Time for a walk........

Come on Nella, time for a walk..........
Chilly and damp, with a north westerly wind.....scarf and gloves I think......

The lanes are looking pretty......the trees still have their canopy but are losing leaves slowly.......

There are lots of birds in the hedgerows but they are illusive.......although I did see several Goldcrest today.....what a joy....they are such tiny birds.......

I live in an area which has a lot of farmers.........I like to see the sheep in the fields.......

Edible or not, I am never quite sure................

Robins pincushion........the bright colours of summer slowly disappearing......
The odd wildflower........as pretty as a picture.............

Gosh a molehill........I havn't seen many this year, and that is unusual ................normally they will be in the fields, also in gardens........perhaps the moles are having a hard time this year..........

Come look at this in the hedgerow....isn't that beautiful....I haven't a clue what it is........any ideas???
We have two rivers in this area.........they are looking good..........

Living in a low lying area we have plenty of these natural ponds........they rarely dry out, even in the driest summers. They are wonderful wildlife habitats.............

Gosh think I should start heading back, don't like the look of those clouds.....come on Nella.............

Oh Cheryl, how lovely it is there. Your tree lined lanes, yhe pastures with sheep and the gentle river all make me want to walk with you. I would think those mushrooms are not edible and I have seen those pink seed pods. They are on http://clayandlimestone.blogspot.com/2008/10/over-mountain-to-fairegarden.html
almost to the bottom of that post. Gail doesn't say what they are, but I bet she could tell you.

Thanks for the lovely walk. It made my day seem more peaceful.

Nella looks like she is on point in the first picture. I bet she really enjoys being out and about with you. I don't know what kind of bloom you have there. It is very pretty especially for this time of year when not so much is blooming.

What a lovely walk. Your lanes look so pretty with trees for protection. Lucky you to live so close to water. It must be very peaceful to sit by the ponds...

Don't know what those pretty flowers are, but the colour is so cheerful at this time of year.

Hi Lisa.....I ended walking much further with Nella than planned.....she is a wonderful companion and sometimes I get carried away.......
the bloom was so bright amongst the leafless hedgerow, I would love to know what it is.....

Hi Wendy.....The lanes are pretty, most are tree lined, and also have native hedges.......
The ponds are not the sort that you could sit by......they are on private property, also the surrounding ground would be very boggy..........but they are lovely to look at...........

How is sweet Nella doing? She looks as though she was having a good time sniffing out something. Those clouds do look like rain. Thanks for the stroll...I was needing one.

What a lovely place for a walk. I'd be tempted to go too slowly and enjoy the beauty. Glad you saw the clouds. They look full of rain.

I am impressed with the state of your roads, ours are awful, muddy, holey and horrible!

Cheryl said...

Hi LIbby, don't be too impressed we have a lot of pot holes........but that lane is actually quite good.....we have also had a lot of rain which seems to have cleaned everything up......

You walk has been lovely and I wish I could take a walk along the hedgerows. I like that word...hedgerow!

Glad to oblige! Spindle-tree (Euonymus europaeus) but we must thank Frances at Fairegarden from id-ing it! Isn't it wonderful.

Dear Cheryl,
Happy Halloween. The clouds do look as if rain is coming in. The minute I saw the sheep I thought of wool and felting! LOL! I have been bitten by the felting bug.
A lovely Halloween walk with you. Thank you!
Only treats! Hope you and your darling grandchildren have a fun Guy Fawkes Day. I am thinking of you.
Love and light,
Sherry
