Sunday Safari.

Sherry and I decided that on Sunday we would have a safari in our gardens and post photographs of the bugs we found. With my Sunday hat on and bundles of enthusiasm of I went in search of little creatures. Hhhmm nothing here, lets have a look at some flowers......
Nice flower but only a couple of flies enjoying the sunshine.

What if I poke around up here, something might fly out and resettle.......nothing. Oh but look whats on the ground.

Now that is a pretty snail....I bet that has been eating my lupins.....
And some sort of hoverfly I think......
And another one, this is a little repetative.

A damselfly, such a beautiful colour.
I wonder if there is anything else in here......not a good day for bugs in this garden.......hey what's that flying by..............

Hold the pose hoverfly......................perfect, thank you. Really pleased with that photograph.
Why not pop over to Sherry at Q's corner and see what bugs she found in her garden today.........

Dear Cheryl,
Just came in from bug hunting. It is humid outside. The morning shower filled all the puddlers about the gardens. The bugs have drinking water and the birds have plenty for bathing.
I had much fun bug hunting with you. Hover fly picture is perfect!
I adore snails...beautiful, eating Lupines? I would not be pleased about that. Do you gather the snail shells?
That was so fun I think I wll go hunting again...maybe I will find a grasshopper.

I regularly enjoy taking a safari in the garden. That's why I always need to take a camera, because when I don't is when all the insects come out.

Thanks for taking us with. I think the snail looks so innocent in the photo, but maybe that's because I haven't had any in my garden.

Sherry....I really enjoyed that....shall we do it every week? I would like to.
I could hear a grasshopper but could not find one. Ours are very tiny they are oak tree grasshoppers.
Yes I love snail shells and keep them when they are empty.
I will pop over to you now......

Cheryl, how fun. You take some of the most extraordinary photos! Good for you wearing a hat. If I had one that fit and didn't make me that much hotter, I would wear one. Looks like your weather has warmed some and you are having some sun. Hope it stays that way for you.

Your snail is beautiful! It almost looks like a chocolate and vanilla dessert!
Oh, so that's what that flying creature is - a hover fly! I never knew. Thanks for enlightening me. Your straw hat looks very flattering - and good for keeping the sun off your face.
