Auriculas.

Auriculas are very pretty, dainty plants. The fragrance they produce is divine. If it was made into a perfume I for one would buy it. I have bought a victorian plant stand to put them on. They look so beautiful together, and the bees absolutely love them. The one above was here when we moved in, so I don't know the name. Can anyone help?
This pretty one was given to me, so I don't know its name either. Anyone help?

I treated myself to this little beauty. The name is jumping jack. Mark at The Greenfingered Photographer has really got me hooked on these. There is a beautiful yellow one on Marks blog, thats my next purchase. Aren't they just gorgeous.

Another new flower to me. How pretty. Wonder if we have them here. I'll have to look them up. It is so nice to see the sun there, I'll bet you're enjoying it.

I do not know much about them (didn't even know they were scented) so I can't help you with their names I'm afraid. I remember Geoff Hamilton having a collection of them too. He even built his own little auricula theatre for them.

I didn't realise auriculas were fragrant.

Hi Hedgewitch....I didn't either, it was only when I was keeping them in the greenhouse, I opened the door one morning and the smell wafted out. Beautiful.

Hi, Cheryl, sorry I'm no help either. I wasn't even familiar with an auricula! Do they bloom just in the spring?
We have had bumblebees around here, surprising because I usually don't see them until it's warmer, or maybe because of you I am just more observant of them.

My auriculas have been flowering for three weeks now Rose. There are still buds hiding away so expect that will flower for another four to five weeks. They are worth it for the scent alone.

Cheryl,

These are beautiful Primulas! I have one Auricula in my garden, that has not been happy since I divided it last year. (Well, worse, my big dog stepped on it.) The flowers on it are much the same as the first one you have shown. I don't recall ever seeing your mystery one, so I can't help out there. I love Primulas because several of them do exceedingly well here.

The flowers are so pretty ...

Hi Kate....We keep our auriculas in clay pots here to display them, and keep them in good condition. It is the only plant I am a bit fussy about.
They have shows every year...I would never enter I am not competetive.
Tks for droppiong by.
