Birds, bugs and blooms.

A Blue Tit feeds her youngster. I have four Blue Tits nests in the garden. The adults are not using the feeders at the moment, showing there is plenty of insect life in my garden, to feed themselves and the chicks. This is years of work now showing good results for wildlife.
BUT you never have enough food for Starlings.............
Red Campion is attracting insects....not the prettiest I grant you.
Bumblebees and Lupins....love the bee and the peppery fragrance that the bloom gives so freely.
A little moth was being chased by a damselfly....but lived to see another day.
Forest shield bug...they feed on oaks and we have plenty around here.
This is the damselfly that was chasing the moth......the sun was shining on him, hence not a very good photograph.

Meadow cranesbill....a native and a favourite of mine.
I love this columbine bloom.......
and the Scabious just looked so pretty against the wall.
A tumble for a bumble in the sweet smelling Rosa Rugosa.
Bumbles and foxgloves say to me summer is here....they are a match made in heaven. Gardening is not only about the plants. The life in it not only enhances the garden but it puts us in touch with the whole picture.
Quote: The poetry of the earth is never dead.....John Keats.
Have fun gardening and remember to take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Cheryl, I'm so envious of your bird photos; I can't get the knack of taking them without frightening the birds away. The scabiosa looks as if you had artfully arranged it against that wall.
Just to show you my ignorance of insects, I thought a damselfly was a female dragonfly!
Ah, and a quote from Keats--one of my favorites!
Have a good weekend!

Awesome pictures again Cheryl. I love them all but I especially love the poppy and the foxgloves. I can never visit you blog without smiling cos it is such a beautiful place. And I do appreciate and respect your privacy but it was so nice to read something about you.

What a fantastic safari you must have had - nI am so jealous cos that is on my to do list!! I couldn't agree more with regards to the poverty some people have to endure. I went to Egypt a few years ago and saw things I never could have imagined. It made me grateful that I was born where I was born - and also a little guilty if I am being honest. I said that I would never complain again - but of course, I did!!

Hope you are well and loads of love to little Poppi (and Reilly of course) and hope she is better now xx

Hi Rose.....I have found with Birds that for me it is luck, It will happen Rose, just be patient, it will come.
The scabious photo, I love that to, I saw them gently dancing in the wind and thought thats nice, hey presto good photo.
Keats one of my favourite to.

Hi Dawny.....When I look back on my life so far, I have had a lot of ups and downs but I wouldn't have missed any of it. We have to learn from our experiences and be guided by them. They help make us who we are today.
Its always a joy to hear from you, you always come from the heart.

Hi Hedgewitch....Glad you enjoyed your visit.....
I was a little bit concerned you had not dropped by, I thought you might be unwell.
Yes I understand what you mean when you say doing the things we have to......
It is always good to hear from you.
Gales are forecasts for tomorrow so I will be trying to get everything secure....I won't be able to do it all but its going to be a long day I think.
Mr Practical won't be able to help he is out earning the pennies.

Such wonders captured as you strolled through your garden. When I see foxgloves as you have depicted them it makes me want to try to grow them again. I don't have much luck with them.

Hi Lisa.....I don't know if it helps but foxgloves do well in the shade, or semi shade. They also like a bit of moisture at their roots.
Foxgloves grow wild here....
Thanks for dropping by and have a lovely weekend.

Thinking of you today, as the wind has been getting up a bit! Will be a bit of a test for my staking and tying in on the roof, too.

Hope you got done everything you needed to? I saw the forecast for Sunday and Monday is a bit grim :-(

I was out of action with a flu-type thing last and then a migraine ..so haven't been about as much, but am fine again now (happy to report!)

Tku Zhakee.....

How very kind of you, I will pop over soon.

Hi Hedgewitch....Its not looking good here at the moment....but Mother Nature has the upper hand, so will just have to wait and see what damage she will do.
