Starlings

I know a lot of you don't like starlings but I must say it is very rare I do not like a bird. I give them all a chance. Also they do me a lot of favours taking grubs from the lawn. I thought this was a great photo, and he looks a fine specimen.

Cheryl, I'm guilty for ratting on Starlings. They are feeder hogs. LOL! But I have taken some photos of those golden-flected backs that show a very beautiful bird. I wonder why they seek out feeders around here when there are plenty of open fields for them to pluck grubs and other insects. Actually, I only have about six who visit my feeders at once. So, I'm lucky I don't have 100 at a time.

BTW, I've never seen a magpie here. They're stunning.

They are greedy but mine seem to prefer the lawn to the feeders, so perhaps I am lucky. Perhaps your food is more tasty than the grubs in the fields!

Magpies are stunning.

Dear Cheryl,
I am at peace with the Starlings.
Your Magpie is stunning!
None at my house but my daughter used to see them when she lived in Colorado.
I am enjoying your birds!

I am glad you are enjoying the birds, Sherry. I always enjoy yours. My husband is very taken with your beautiful red cardinals. Red is his colour.
