Sunday safari

It is hot......the temperature is rising......
We have a heatwave on the way.........

The bugs are busy...........

Hoverflies are enjoying the daisies.....
There are dozens of ladybirds.........I am not sure if this one is a native species......
Scorpion flies are active in the copse.......they are harmless......
So many insects.....but it is way too hot to stay out with them......
A dip would be nice........
but we have already made arrangements......we are going to an outdoor concert.......time to sit and chat and listen to some jazz and all in aid of charity. Pimms anyone??

Wonderful photos Cheryl!

So many insects, all pollinating your plants for you :D

It's been far too hot recently, I may take a day off later in the week when it's meant to be very hot!

Pimms would be lovely Cheryl... one drink I've never seen for sale in France - strange!

I love Jazz too - infact we're going to an outdoor Jazz evening in Dinan next weekend.

Do hope you have a good week and enjoy your garden even if it is warm and will see if I can send some rain your way if we get some! Miranda x

Dear Cheryl,
I needed to go on Safari today...I needed to be with the bugs. I needed to come to your gardens today. I needed to be with a kindred spirit. Thank you.
I so love seeing all of your bugs and bees but the scorpion fly made me gasp! A lovely bug indeed.
I do understand the heat....it has been silly hot at my house too. A wee bit of a cool down today which made for a nice time hunting my favorite Damselflies....
My husband took me to see the Jewel Wings....they heal me with their beauty.
Enjoy your concert. I shall sleep well dreaming of Jewels in the gardens and dear friends.
Happy Sunday Safari,
Sherry

Your new header is so pretty, Cheryl. The insects do seem to love this heat; I've noticed more activity this past week than I've seen all season. Enjoy your concert and stay cool!

Thank you Lisa....I love the header to....I grew the nemesia in the greenhouse and planted some in an old chimney from my parents old house. The nasturtiums just came up with them.....mother nature is a dear.....

I am melting to, I do not like this weather......

Hi Miranda.....I love Pimms on a hot sunny day with lots of fruit and of course the optional mint....

Jazz is one of our loves and this is a particularly good band....the singer has the most amazing voice......

Please do send the rain....I am desparate......

Lovely pictures again Cheryl, your Safaris are always so enjoyable. An evening spent in the open air with live jazz! How very delightful, I would have loved that :)

Don't do too much in the humidity this week, a good excuse to relax!

I really enjoy these Sunday safaris. Fun to see the wildlife in other's gardens. I'm slowly learning the names of some of the more common insects.

Lovely pics! I especially liked the last one. And your header is pretty too. Very summery. I also did not know what a Pimms was. Thanks for explaining. Glad the concert was a success.
Happy Summer! (but I do hope the heat lets up somewhat).

Mother Nature knew just what would look good with your purple nemesia. The safari is such fun, I always learn something-scorpion fly-dangerous looking. :) Glad you enjoyed the concert and hope you and Mr. P have a great week. It finally cooled off a little here!!

hello cheryl .. I did a post just for you!

Your photography is gorgeous, as per usual.. you must have tremendous patience and a very steady hand to get such beautiful shots of the insects?

Beautiful safari pics of the wildlife in your garden. It's hot here too and dry, very dry. They promised rain last Saturday but not a drop fell so I'm parched so please pour me a Pimms. ;-)

Cheryl, I love your little critters and the hoverfly is almost identical to the ones in our garden~~isn't nature grand! I hope it cools off soon and that you get the needed rain...gail
