I think this is many-zoned fungus. The area where I live is very damp in autumn thru to spring so I get a lot of fungus, moss, and ferns. Fortunately I love all three, they have always fascinated me. This is a piece of dead wood that I found in our little copse. It really is quite beautiful if you look at it closely. I've put it in Poppis fairy garden.......I am sure she will appreciate that it is somewhere for them to sit.

POSTED for CHRIS who also is a fungus freak.

Dear Cheryl,
I so love fungus and ferns and all living matter! I also am an organic gardener. Have been for over 35 years. I garden for the butterflies and the birds. If the rabbits and deer leave a little I garden for my supper table.
I am enjoying reading your journal and am looking forward to seeing your pictures of your gardens and bugs and birds! I too love the bees and the bugs and all the wonders of nature.
Chris in Somerset is a friend of mine. We share the same moon. She sees her six hours before I do!
It is a pleasure getting to know you.

Cheryl, the picture was great. We get some weird looking things here when it is wet and warmer. Ferns! I love ferns! I have a very small fern garden. But I am going to have to move it. The tree limb that was keeping it shaded fell or was blown out last fall. I'm afraid they will be in too much sun now. Will have to wait til I see their little fiddle heads before I can move them. Show pictures of the ferns!
Hi Sherry
Thanks for dropping by, it is always good to hear from a kindred spirit.
When summer arrives hopefully there will be lots of lovely photos to put on my blog.
It is good to know that there are others out there who respect this beautiful and fragile planet of ours.
Happy blogging.
Hi Beckie
