Why on earth did I plant these???

Title should tell you something, I planted these dwarf iris last autumn all around the garden, and now they are here I am not very keen. What on earth possessed me! Anyone else had a silly moment in the garden?
Took my dogs for an early walk this morning. My home is surrounded by fields, mostly for grazing sheep...........there are also hay meadows. I was quite amazed at the amount of wild life around, especially the birds. I saw two herons, they flew right in front of me as I walked the lanes. So glad Nella didn't see them until the last minute! Also lots of mallards around this year and to my amazement they were all in pairs. Usually the female is being followed by 4 or 5 drakes, but not this year. Having ponds near by I have often seen the duck nearly being drowned by so many drakes trying to mate with her. Its surprising how a large stone thrown in the pond breaks up the attack. Also on my walk I saw a flock of lapwings, and believe me there is nothing more breathtaking. Their wings are like frilly black and white net curtains fluttering in the breeze, quite magical. We often have them in the fields near by.............do you have any near you? They are quite rare now so would be interested to know. Quote: Heaven is a little closer as the sun sets on my garden.

Hi Cheryl - I wanted to thank you for leaving such a nice comment on my blog. I just did a quick walk through yours - very nice!! I'm so envious that you have green grass and garden time - and flowers coming up!! I still have a couple months of snow here.

Your Nella looks like a sweetie - how lucky that she has great places to run. And how lucky you are to have grandchildren nearby. Our first (a grandson - due mid April!) will be halfway across the country. I already feel bad about all I'll miss by not being closer.

I hope you'll stop by my blog again - I'll be back here for sure! Very fun to meet you!
