Clouds and heavy rain.......

The clouds skid across the sky
they don't know.........
what life is going on down here........
nor do they care.
They are collections of tears.......

And when they cry
the world blooms because....
it is the beginning of life.......
When I cry........
nothing happens.......... Kathryn MacKenzie-Smith

Such beautiful photos! It's raining here today, too. Your photos are a reminder of the beauty of the rain.
I love the poem--I thought you had written it and was going to compliment you on the wonderful imagery:)

Hi Cheryl...
Love all your photos. Funny how only the eye of the camera can pick up on some of the intricacies of nature that can't even be seen with the natural eye.

We finally got a good dose of "crying" yesterday and I am so grateful for it!!!!

If it hadn't come soon you might have heard me crying all the way across the pond. :-)
Have a great day.

Nice pictures, we wouldn't have such beauty around us without the rain....but could we have some sunshine now please! BW Goosey

We are having those clouds and heavy rain today too. This quote is perfect with your photos. I immediately thought the apple was weeping. Don't be sad. The sun will shine soon.

Hi Rose....I am glad you enjoyed the post......much to my surprise, I am having a bit of a love affair with my camera at the moment. It is just amazing what you can see through the eye of the camera....

Hi Meems.....Oh its you I hear when Florida is short of rain, is it??
I enjoyed taking these photographs in the rain today, it was fun.

Oh Goosey I could not agree more....

Lisa...you have such a wonderful imagination.....

There is so much imagery and emotion attached to rain...You have some nice photos. I like the one with the branches (6th on down). We've even got a little rain today. Not sure it will be a lot, but it comes with a cooling effect.

Hi Cheryl,
Like you they are a bit thin on the ground up this end. Some butterflies seem to be ok but others are definately down in numbers. At least everything is well watered in after all this rain, should see a surge in growth and colour in a few days.

Cheers Mark

Hi Chris....I like the colour with the raindrops in that photograph....it is a smoke bush, one of my favourite shrubs.

I enjoy being outside in light rain, today it was torrential and I got a good soaking....serves me right....

Hope that your rain refreshed the earth and you!!!

Hi Mark.....Butterflies seem down countrywide.....

Yes the rain will get everything climbing again!!!!

I love a beautiful rain. You really have a gift for capturing the essence of a moment... and as an aside, butterflies are down worldwide. Poor guys! Most of their host plants are what most people consider weeds so the caterpillars have nothing to eat. We can't have butterflies without caterpillars.

Dear Cheryl,
Gorgeous! Each photo a painting.
I love being outside in the rain too.
I could tell you were having fun with your photography. Expressing your artful self is delightful!
I love photography.
Ahhh....
Mother's watering is the best.

Okay I had to pop back over since its Monday and rainy here -- your posting of the poem also reminded me of "Rainy Days and Mondays" by the Carpenters.

Hi Mimi....I plant for the butterflies....wildflowers are my thing and all caterpillars are welcome here.....people need to be more relaxed about their gardens. You can still have a beautiful space with the bugs etc enhancing your garden. I am hoping by showing my photographs of plants and bug people will see that it can work.....

Thank you by the way for your lovely comment....

Cheryl, it really takes a talent to put pictures to a poem, and you did it beautifully!! Hope you didn't catch a chill out there in the rain. The more I hear about your summer, though, the more I think I might like it. Never tooo hot! Have you heard any news yet on your Wild Life certification? Still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Cheryl said...

Dear Sherry....from you that is a great compliment, I thank you sincerely....

Mother nature does it best....but you and I know that already....

Best wishes always....

Hi Chris.....you are talking to a serious carpenters fan here....I know every word of that song.

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.......actually they don't.....but just love that song...

Hi Beckie...thank you for that lovely comment...I really enjoyed doing that post I must say..

I am used to ourt British summers...some would say they are miserable......but I like cool air, I feel more alive, less drained. When the weather is too hot I wilt and lose energy....

we are all different, it is what makes the world go round...

I feel a little unwell again today, most unlike me....must pull myself together.....

No new yet they said Autumn so I have a long wait....You will be one of the first to know....

Lovely poem and even lovelier pics! Here it's raining too and rather stormy as well. It feels like autumn instead of high summer.

Lovely post Cheryl!

Cheryl said...

Hi Yolanda...yes autumn does spring to mind......it is so chilly here to.
Thank you for your gracious comments, they are much appreciated....

Hi Cheryl - at long last a few minutes to enjoy my favorite blogs... have just finished posting pics of our swallows and wanted to see what was going on elsewhere!

You seem to be having the same weather as here - it's not been great, but the garden really needed the rain!

Take care - Miranda

Hi Miranda....the rain is much needed...the ground was beginning to crack here......apparently we have bad weather for the week ahead.

Hope you and your family are well.....

Cheryl such beautiful images! I love the last best!
Your banner is just too cute like a page out of Beatrice Potter!
Don't you feel better after shedding some tears? I do.

Cheryl said...

Thats ok Beckie....

Cheryl said...

Hi Naturegirl....I think the writer is comparing her tears to natures tears.....and for her there is no comparison....
I agree with you tears do make you feel better.....

Your rainy day photos are quite nice. Where I live we don't get much of it, so when it falls it always makes the air smell so good. Rain on all of those plants makes me wish it would rain here.
