Feathered friends

This pair of Mallards have adopted our neighbours pond. I am lucky because the pond edges our copse so I can see the coming and goings of all the water birds. We had a pair of mallards last year, they had ten ducklings and used to bring them into the copse to feed. It was lovely to see them.......they grew to a fair size. The whole family disappeared overnight. Where they went or what happened I don't know.
Beckie at Dragonfly Corner won the caption competition so she will be receiving the six packets of seeds. I hope that she enjoys them. Its good to get something for nothing. Quote: Cherish the simple things.

Hi Beckie

Me to always look forward to hearing from you across the miles. Sometimes you can have a great friendship without ever meeting that person.
Don't forget to email your address. I have left it on your valentine comments column.

Hi Nature girl
I saw the mallard (poor thing) on your blog and left a message for you.
Your posts are great, I visit regularly now. Can't wait to see your garden in the summer.

Hugs.

Cheryl,

There's nothing sweeter on the pond than a pair of Mallards. Other exotic ducks just can't compare to a Mallard's calm and charm.

Nice photo!

I am so glad to hear that you take Mason to see the ducks. Children, I think, need to be in touch with all that is around them, it gives them a greater insight about nature and who and what shares this planet with us. I know that he will learn with you........
