My quiet moments.

My husband gave me this seat a few years ago now. It is carved from the roots and trunk of an old tree. I am actually against the felling of trees but the company that produce these only take them out if it is absolutely essential. I have several trees in my garden that are dying but would not entertain felling them. As they die, they give life to others. Insects and fungus will live on the tree. The birds will eat the insects, and nest in the hollows. Everything has a purpose. I am as you might guess a bit of a tree hugger. I am absolutely, totally and without doubt passionate about them. When I take my grandchildren to a park or walk the garden, more often than not we will hug a tree. They are life giving. Quote: In peace there is nothing so becomes a man, as modest stillness and humility.

Cheryl, more of us should be tree huggers. Your husband did the right thing - that chair is wonderful and I'd love to have one. Trees, you see, never die.

Yes I love my garden chair. Yes I suppose you are right, trees never die. I like the thought.

And I forgot to tell you, but you have just reminded me, when we pick Riley up from school, Poppi hugs the tree every day thats by the gate.

This seat is wonderful Cheryl. I just lost two trees. It has been a terrible year for our Pine Trees. We don't have to worry about them any more. They are gone. :( I felt like I lost a beloved pet. sigh~~

Cheryl, I always wondered were the term "tree hugger" came from. Now I now some one must have seen you and your grandchild! Actually, I love trees. When I see a really old gnarly one or a tall thick one, I like to think about what changes in the world they have seen. If only they could tell us!

Hi Lisa....It is sad to lose trees, and beautiful pines, so majestic. I am always planting more here, one day I will run out of space!

Hi Beckie
Always a pleasure to hear from you. Next time you see an old gnarled tree, stop and give it a hug, yes people will think you are mad but does it matter? Trees give of amazing energy and that is a fact.
Take care and have a great day.
