Cranesbill.

Just had to post this little beauty. I found it tucked away in a shady corner of the garden. Its one of the cranesbill, Mourning Widow. I love the cranesbill and have many of them around the garden but I have to say this is one of my favourites. Will post the others as they come into flower in the summer. And of course you know what I am going to say, bees love it.

Dear Cheryl,
I just want to kiss your little bee on your header! Such a sweet bee!
I am getting rid of my baskets and pots. I am trying to simplify too.
I am changing the gardens to be more self reliant.
The Cranesbill are lovely. Happy to know the bees love them too!
I have a Bumble Bee that has waken.
Still looking for Mason Bees. The apple trees are not in bloom yet so I think the Orchard MAson Bees will come out when the Apple Trees bloom.
I am learning a little bit about the bees.
Hope your weather warms up soon.

Hi Sherry.....The little bee is a carder bee. They are really pretty, I see them frequently here.
I have many oak barrels in the garden but all my pots are nearly gone. They need so much attention, and it is time that I just don't have. The baskets, well, I will see how they look this year, with this simplification.
Your mason bees will probably be another two weeks, if I have worked things out properly.
You may even get leafcutter bees. Do you have them in your part of the world. If you do they would also use your bee unit.Hope the sun is shining.

Dear Cheryl,
Thank you for the added information. We do have leaf cutter bees. I need a Bee id book!
I will wait patiently for the Masons.

Cheryl, your Cranesbill is so pretty. I had 3 plants that had a pink flower and were not very pretty. Evidently, they didn't like the spots I had them in (shade). They only lasted a couple of years.

I love the header picture. The bee looks so soft like a teddy bear that needs to be stroked.

Such a sweet little flower, Cheryl, and such a rich colour.

I love the bee header photo. I must find out more about the big black bee that's fond of our hardenbergia.

Hi Beckie, Most cransbill love the sun "Mourning Widow" isan exception. I have some beautiful blue, also pale white speckled with pink. When they flower will show you.

Hi Lisa, the bee is a carder bee. They have learnt to live alongside humans and are a passive bee. I must say I am always pleased when they visit.

Hi Ladyluz.....Would love to know more about your bee. They fascinate me. Perhaps you could take a photo?

Hi Cheryl - am hoping I might find some time for writing some more on my blog this weekend - I've been so busy with getting all my grass cutting done for clients whilst it's nice - we've had a beautifully hot day here in Brittany - I've noticed that my Cranesbill is just starting to come out too - this is one of my favorites! I heard the first cuckoo here yesterday!

Happy gardening - Miranda

Hi Miranda.....pop over to your site most days, thought you had been busy as Cornwall is still the last post you made. Hope to see something over the weekend. Have fun in the sun and enjoy the beautiful cranesbill.
