Everything is popping out of the soil.

Now I have cleared a lot of the weeds from the beds it was good to see so many plants popping up. Lupins at the moment look good and the slugs have left them alone....I think I have the song thrush to thank for that. The bleeding hearts are up but I don't give them much hope as they are rabbit food. Cardoons (the favourtie of bees and me) are coming up big time and lastly the day lillies have produced several huge clumps around the garden. Of course they look good now but with gardening you can never take things for granted. By the way does anyone else just love the smell of lupins....always reminds me of black pepper, Lovely

Hi Beckie....No garden skills, my method is simple. Thay get a good spread of garden compost twice a year and that is it. A water when its very dry of course. I am afraid it is do or die here.

Tku for dropping by, and glad you like the photos.

Hi Hedgewitch.....it is good to see the plants growing well.

Dear Cheryl,
I too enjoy the smell of Lupines. Mine are up too. What is the wonderful flower on your header?
I understand about not taking anything for granted in the garden. I also seldom water. My garden composit is mulch and food too. I do use lots of companion planting.
Seeing so much green in your garden is refreshing. I just started cleaning beds today.
Nice to be out in the dirt again.

Those look so lovely - I have a smile on my face - thanks! I planted lupine seeds from a fellow blogger last fall - can't wait to see if they come up. :)

Hi Sherry......Nature is fickle, I hope I will see them all flower, though I doubt the bleeding hearts. Getting grubby is great fun.

Hi Kris Hope that your lupins flower and give you endless pleasure. Watch the slugs they love them.
The seedheads look beautiful as well when flowering is over.

I commented earlier, but I think it must have gotten lost in cyberspace.
It's amazing how much green you have in your garden already. I've seen lupines only in the gardening catalogues and thought I might like to try them. Do they bloom a long time?

Lupins are a bit hard to get going but once established are great. They are the slugs and snails favourite food, so that can be a bit of a problem. The flower in early summer, then when they have finished cut the old blooms of, and they will flower again. The individual bloom lasts around two weeks but you can have six to a plant all at different stages. I would do anything to have them in my garden, I just adore their scent.
