A little bit of sunshine.

The sun came out this afternoon. We are going to have a frost tonight. Decided to walk the garden to see what might be vulnerable, not that I can do much to stop it. Nature has the upperhand. There is virgin leaf on the Hawthorn. The crab and ornamental apple are in bud. The dicentra that I have netted (because the rabbits love them) has done really well. You are definately not having this one bunny!!! Finally the Berberis Darwinii is in full flower and looking very pretty. I wonder what will happen overnight??? Enlarge the ornamental apple photograph and you will see two insects sitting on top of the buds.

It's too late for having frost still!! I hope everything survived. The budding plants are lovely. I wish we could have hedgehogs here too.
Thanks for looking at the flowers on my blog too. Please post a picture of your wisteria arbor when it blooms--it must be heavenly under there. My husband dated a girl in Quidhampton in 1945 who lived in a house called Wisteria. I think it likes the English climate a lot.

Cheryl, what delightful flowers! I hope the frost doesn't hurt them. You are right, though. There's not much you can do to change Mother Nature. I'm wishing the best for you!

Do you have hummingbirds in England?

Dear Cheryl,
Did I see Mason Bees???
I so hope everything makes it through the night okay. Your gardens are full of beautiful blooms.
My Bee box came today. I am not feeling very well, fever and all, but the bee box lifted my spirits.
I did take some photos but I am too tired to post tonight.
Sending warm thoughts for your gardens.
Sherry

Hi Brucesc....yes its morning here now and frost was harsh, the garden is frozen, I despair. Will post wisteria at some point.
THi Beckie....tks for dropping by.

Hi Beckie...Will checkon blooms today, not looking good.

Yes Becky, bleeding hearts, lovely plant.
No humminbirds in England, unfortunately.

Hi Sherry....No mason bees yet. This weather is not good for them, I am concerned at the moment.

Hoping you are better soon.

Beckie....the plant in the photo is a shrub, it is a flowering currant, can't remember the latin name. I grow a lot of shrubs here, they flower, are good value for money and little work if you pick the right ones.
