You all seemed to love the carder bee that was on my header yesterday. TodayI found her in the copse amongst the wild flowers, so she is on the header once again. Pretty bee. We had a torrential downpour yesterday and it seems to have done my saplings and ferns a power of good. Look at the lovely new growth, so exciting, my trees are at the moment doing well. Endless joy!

Good Morning Cheryl,
Lovely, lovely new growth!
My husband calls our spring rains, "Life giving rains." They are too.
My goodness this is one sweet bee!
So pretty in her jacket!
Have a delightful weekend,
Sherry

Our trees are also all starting to leaf out now. This is my favorite time of year! Happy Arbor Day!

The acers are lovely hedgewith, and the colours in the autumn will be amazing.

She is the sweetest bee Sherry amongst the wild flowers. We have a bee fly here that looks identical, I can only just tell them apart. The fly lays her eggs in the bees nest and of course the pupa eat the bees. I have a bee fly in the garden at the moment as well as the beautiful carder. Oh dear.

I think Rose, it is everyones favourite time of year.

I've said it before..and I'll say it again, 'Your garden fills me with joy, Cheryl' :)

I love the new header with the wonderful bee...great tough to have one posted on Earth Day...for the earth will surely die without the bees.

Superb planters from Mr Practical! I love the way you have planted them up :)

The ferns in your first picture look like seahorses...very beautiful :)

There are some visitors waiting to make your acquaintance at Barleycorn :)

Hi wildlife gardener....I am glad that you enjoy my blog. Without the bees there would be nothing.
How strange I thought the ferns looked like sea horses. Two minds with but a single thought.

Cheryl, rain again? You must be storing up for a long dry summer. The trees here are just starting to leaf out and when seen from a distance look all fuzzy green. I love it!

Hi Cheryl,
I am sure if you are quiet enough you can hear things growing as they seem to change by the hour at the moment.
Looking through your posts I see you have some ariculars. Many years ago I had a collection of these and use to go all over the place to find them. Well yesterday I went to a nursery that I used to visit as they have a large aricula collection.
As the gardening bug has come back with a vengance I decided that I would purchase 6 of them and start a collection of them again.
I will do a post about them in the next day or two with the link to the nursery.

Cheers Mark

I can just see that rain coming in to your area in those clouds Cheryl. So glad to see that your trees are soaking it up.

Gosh lots been going on here since my last visit. I'm not a fan of auriculas, but lots of people love them.
Your planters are impressive and I expect really lovely when in the height of summer.
Always enjoy seeing your bees!

Cheryl said...

Hi Mark...look forward to seeing your auriculas. I find it difficult to find the lovely yellow ones. Everyone seems to have a passion for the deep mauve.

I think its love or hate auriculas Libby. You are more of a tropical girl!

Thanks Beckie for letting me know, will sign up later in the day. Have a great weekend.

Lisa, they got more than a soaking, it was horrendous. Oh to be in England now that spring is here!!!!
