At last, got that snap.

After weeks of trying at last got the photo I wanted of my lovely song thrush. This quiet and sensitive bird is so very welcome here. She has taken so many snails so far this year I don't think I am going to have too much of a problem. Being an organic wildlife gardener, I rely on the song thrush and hedgehogs to take care of my snail population. Hopefully my hostas will have a good year!!!!

Last year the thrushes ate quite a few snails in my garden and I hope they will do so again this year. Like you I am an organic gardener and try to make my garden as wildlife friendly as I possibly can.

Dear Cheryl,
The Song Thrush is beautiful. Reminds me of the thrushes we have in the Spring and Summer.
I am enjoying your new header too. I love the bee!
Bird songs and bee wings,

Hi Sherry

Glad you like the header. I took this photo two years ago. Wild strawberries and honey bees, what more could you want?

The song thrush is exquisite,I agree.

Ticking by til the 17th!

Hi Cheryl,
Could you send it down here, there are hundreds on the railway garden.Mind you they dont do too much damage and they do make original art works for me when I ask them.

Cheers mark

Tks for dropping by Mark. Only you could make artwork out of a snail......and I do mean that sincerely.

Hi there, Cheryl :-)

I completely understand what a challenge it is to get a photo of this lovely bird! Well done you :-D

I hope it sticks around to feast on your slugs too! Hostas are so much nicer to look at when they're not half eaten :-)

Hi Shirl
Yes they are lovely birds and hostas do look so much better without those nibbles around the edges and holes in the middle.

This last week we've had a pair of Song Thrushs hunting for food in our garden - hopefully this means they'll be nesting nearby this year. They're always so beautiful to see, and as organic gardeners ourselves anything that deals with snails is of course doubly welcome!

Azzira tku for visiting.
They are a welcome addition to any garden but to organic wildlife gardeners they are the answer to our prayers.
