Mystery Moth?

I took these photographs this afternoon. I don't know what this moth is. I have looked in my Readers Digest Field Guide to Butterflies and Moths and I can't see it in there. Can anyone help?

Cheryl, what an unusual moth. I have no clue, but hope you find out. Is your weather getting any better? We are a little warmer, but days of rain!!

Yes it is unusual. Warmer here at the moment turning cold again at weekend. Sigh.

I wish I could help you. I love Moths as much a butterflies. There are just so many more of them.

Maybe you can post to the web site What bug is this. They do a great job of identifying bugs. You have to tell them where you live what time of year you found the bug etc. They would be your best bet for an id.

It's the little things which delight...the little moth, the little snake's head fritillary, that little angel of a granddaughter of yours, the little humble bumble bee sheltering in the pampas...all absolutely delightful. I'm wearing a happy smile again, Cheryl...must be the wonders of your garden sanctuary that put it there :)
