Wet, cold and windy.

The weather is still not good, but I am an all weather gardener. Today I have planted two trees, a Salix Alba which has wonderful coloured stems in the autumn and winter. Also a Rowan, I planted this one for the birds, as they will love the berries this tree gives so willingly. Always looking for a bargain I only paid two pounds each, so I was well chuffed. I managed to clear some of the beds of debris and cut some of the larger plants back. Not the ideal weather but I don't do sitting very well, I am an outside girl. I also managed while I was out in the garden to find plants that I havn't posted before. They made me happy, hope they have the same effect on you. The mason bees are still in the shed due to the bad weather, hopefullly it will improve soon, but its not looking good. Hope the sun is shining on someone somewhere!!!

I love vinca Beckie. I have a lot of ground here so anything that goes a bit crazy is welcome.
The black is a primrose, victorian lace, I think.

What are those flowers called that look like bumble bees? Yellow/black? Very pretty!

We are the same. Whatever the weather, I need to be outdoors. I wear a swimming parka when it's too nasty. Raincoats to fill the bird feeders. My dogs think I'm nuts.

Hi Mary HHmmm Bumblebees ! I think you mean primrose victorian lace. I grew them fromseed, very easy.
Its good to know I am not the only made person in the world. I have a scruffy old waterproof coat that I've had for years. Not very fetching but it does the job well. My friends wouldn't recognise me sometimes!!!

Hi naturegirl
Thank you for dropping by when you are on holiday. All that glorious sunshine, soak it up it will keep you fit and well for the coming seasons.
You will be so rested when you get home your garden will be easy to manage.
Have fun,

Hi Cheryl,
Well it's not one of the places were the sun is shining, it chiucking it down.
How did you knoe the Gold Lace Polyanthus was one of my favourite flowers. One that was really popular during Victorian times.
Hope the bees get out soon as am sure they are getting a bit fed up.

Cheers Mark

Hi Mark....At least your living roof will get a good watering.
The bees will be ok as long as they are out before the end of March.
Glad you like the Gold Lace (a lot of people don't. Tks for giving me the right name as well.
